Rickham Farm

Rickham Farm is a spacious and well appointed detached house in a truly spectacular location overlooking the coastline close to the mouth of the Salcombe estuary. The house provides ample accommodation for one or two families and is an ideal base for 'bucket-and-spade' holidays, walking breaks or family and friends looking for a quiet, rural retreat in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Dating from 1880 the house has been modernised to a good standard in recent years.

LOCATION The house is set in the tiny hamlet of Rickham half a mile from the village of East Portlemouth, offering excellent access to the coast and the Salcombe estuary. The sandy beaches of Millbay and Rickham, and the South West Coast Path are within walking distance whilst a regular foot ferry and water taxi service runs across to Salcombe itself throughout the year. The Start Bay coastline and Slapton Ley nature reserve are within a 15 minute drive, whilst the naval town of Dartmouth is only 10 miles away.

BEDROOMS Five in total, all on the first floor. The main bedroom has a super king size (6') wooden framed bed, bedside units, wardrobe, drawers and stunning views across the neighbouring countryside. En suite bathroom with bath, shower (over), basin and w.c.  A further spacious double room also has lovely views, with double bed, bedside units, wardrobe, drawers and wash hand basin. A third smaller double room, also with country views, has pine double bed and bedside units and drawers.Two twin rooms, one with two single beds, a fitted wardrobe and shelves, and a second twin room with two single beds, drawers and fitted wardrobe. N.B. All duvets, pillows, bed linen, hand, bath and tea towels are supplied. Tenants will  need to bring own beach towels.

BABY FRIENDLY FACILITIES: Highchair and cot available.

BATHROOMS In addition to the en suite (above) is a family bath/shower room on the first floor with bath, hand-held shower (over), basin, w.c. and separate shower cubicle. There is also a downstairs toilet with wash hand basin.

OUTSIDE Very spacious gardens to the front and side of the house with good sized areas of lawn and a number of terraces with garden furniture. The house sits in 480 acres of farmland with coastal path and other walks close by.

GAMES ROOM A cellar below the house is set up for children with a table tennis table, other games, equipment etc.

PARKING For several cars on gravelled drive to the front and rear of the house.

OTHER INFORMATION: The property enjoys the benefits of double glazing and oil fired central heating. Mostly carpeted throughout with parquet flooring in the hall and study.
