Do I have to pay a Deposit for my holiday?
If you are booking more than 6 weeks in advance of your holiday, a deposit of a third of the rental price will be due.  If you are booking less than 6 weeks prior to your holiday, full payment will be required.

What is the Security Deposit?
Where indicated on the property details, a security deposit is payable at the same time and in addition to the payment of the holiday rental.  The security deposit is held by Coast & Country Cottages to cover any losses, damage and / or additional cleaning charges if the property is left in an unsatisfactory condition.  The security deposit will be refunded to you within 14 days of departure subject to deductions necessary by reason of your or any member of your party's breach of your obligations (these are detailed in clause 10 of our Booking Conditions).

Can I book a Short Break?
Yes, a number of the properties within our portfolio are available to book for short breaks for a weekend or mid-week break at certain times of the year, for 3 or more consecutive nights, subject to availability and are charged at 70% of the weekly rate. Please check availability with our team or look online.

 

What is a reduced occupancy / couples discount?

We offer reduced rates for couples or smaller groups (four or less) at some of our properties at certain times of year.  This special rate is based on reduced occupancy and useage of a property.  Please note for a couple this covers the use of only one bedroom  (please advise which bedroom you would like to use) or for four or less people occupying two bedrooms at a larger property - applicable to selected properties and only at certain times of the year.  Please call our team for further information.

 

Do I need to bring my own bed linen and / or towels?
Many of our properties provide linen and some may also provide towels.  It is important to check you chosen property provides bed linen / towels and if necessary bring the appropriate bed linen / towels with you or arrange delivery through one of the many linen hire agencies - details are included in our Planning Your Stay guide and in our Useful Information section of this website.

What time can I arrive and what time must I depart?
Our arrival time is 3.00pm and we would ask that you leave the property by 10.00am on departure day.  If any properties have different arrival and departure times, these will be noted on the property details on the website or you will be advised when you make a booking.

What do I do if I arrive late?
If you are going to be arriving late or on a different day, it is important that you telephone us so we can provide you with key collection instructions.

Do I need to bring anything?
We would recommend you bring your booking confirmation letter with you, as this often includes important information and we may ask to see your letter for identification purposes.

How do I get the keys for the property?
When we confirm the details of your booking, we will advise you of how to collect the keys and where they are located.

If I need to cancel my holiday, what will happen?
As part of your booking the Agency has included Holiday Cancellation Insurance through Sabre Insurance Services. Full details of the policy, showing terms, conditions and exclusions are available on request and can be viewed from the Holiday Cancellation Insurance section of the website.

Do you provide insurance?
We only provide Holiday Cancellation Insurance and details are available on request and can be viewed from the Holiday Cancellation Insurance section of the website.

What are your Opening Hours?
Our opening hours are Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm, Saturdays 9.00am - 4.00pm and from Easter until the end of October our Salcombe office is open on Sundays 10.00am - 2.00pm. Please check our website for the latest opening times.

Where are your Offices?
Our Salcombe Office covers all our properties in & around Salcombe and the South Hams Coast & Countryside.  The office is situated at Hannaford's Landing, Island Street, Salcombe, DevonTQ8 8FE.

Our Dartmouth Office covers all our properties in & around Dartmouth and surrounding towns and villages - including Hillfield Country House & Cottages and Dart Marina.  The office is situated at 3 Market Street, Dartmouth, Devon TQ6 9QE.

Does the property include a cot and a high chair?
If you require a cot or a high chair for your holiday, please visit our 'Baby Friendly Holidays' section of the website or check whether these are available at your selected property before booking, check availability with our team or arrange hire through a local hire company (you can also hire a pushchair or stroller) - details of companies are listed in our Planning Your Stay guide.

Is linen provided on a travel cot?
You will need to bring your own linen for a cot.

Do you have any Dog Friendly Properties?
The South Hams is the perfect destination for a holiday or short break with your dog, with miles of fantastic dog-walking coastline, many beaches, some pubs and local attractions also welcome dogs.  Some of our properties accept dogs as long as they are kept under control and are not left unattended.  We charge £20 per week for each dog staying in the property and must have all details of all dogs staying in a property. See clause 6 of our Booking Conditions.

Do you have any Pet-Friendly Properties?
Many of our properties accept dogs and other pets may be accepted at the owner's discretion, please call our team to check. See clause 6 of our Booking Conditions.

What is VisitBritain?
VisitBritain is the stringent National Quality Assessment Scheme.  Assessments are carried out by an experienced and independent industry professional and provides each property with a star rating reflecting the standard of accommodation and facilities.  More details can be found on page 247 of our brochure or on the VisitBritain section of the website.

How do I find out about the area?
The South Hams covers the most southerly tip of Devon, with much of it officially classed as an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. From the wild beauty of Dartmoor, to the stunning southern coastline, there are miles of beautiful countryside, unspoilt beaches and delightful estuaries and rivers to explore, plus picturesque rural villages and small towns to discover.
