Hope Cove Weekend
24th – 27th August
Head to Hope Cove over the August Bank Holiday weekend for a weekend of classic old fashioned family fun. An extremely popular event in the years calendar, expect to enjoy a series of exciting beachside events, from children’s races to family sandcastle competitions, and live music to sumptuous food and drink. What’s more, there is an exciting lineup of live music at The Cove, and an epic firework finale!

Sea Change Festival
24th – 25th August
Set within the thriving market town of Totnes, Sea Change is a town music festival that celebrates music, arts and culture. Run by the owners of The Drift Record Shop, Sea Change is their annual end-of-summer party in which they invite their favourite music makers, artists, writers and friends to come and take over the town on the August Bank Holiday weekend!
Aveton Gifford Classic Car Show
Monday 27th August, 11.30am – 3.30pm
A one day event, this popular classic car show attracts an eclectic mix of classic and vintage cars. An event that boats a laid back, village fete atmosphere, you will find something to suit everyone.
Rails and Ales, Staverton
25th, 26th and 27th August
A perfect event for avid train lovers that enjoy a tipple or two, the South Devon Railway are hosting a weekend of steam and diesel trains, alongside a famous beer and cider festival. With trains running all day, departing from each end of the line at Buckfastleigh and Totnes, the beer and cider festival will be in full swing from 11.00am until late. What’s more, there will be a barbecue on Friday and Saturday evening, and a buffet car serving a variety of hot and cold foods and soft drinks.
Summer Vibe Feasting, Wild Artichokes
Saturday 25th August
When ‘elasticated waistbands’ are a pre-warning from head-chef Jane Baxter, you know you’re in for a treat. A fusion of flavours, seasonal vegetables, sharing platters, cuts of meat, fish dishes, and mouthwatering will not leave you disappointed. This three course menu is guaranteed to sell out quickly, so grab your tickets and get feasting.
Coleton Fishacre, The National Trust
Sunday 26th August
For those that are feeling active, Coleton Fishacre (of the National Trust) host a free monthly 10k trail run that navigates along the rugged South West Coast Path and through the stunning Coleton Fishacre gardens. Crowned as ‘free, fun, informal, and for everyone’, simply turn up on the day and join in the fun.
Monday 27th August
A popular family friendly attraction, Pennywell Farm is looking forward to hosting Britain’s Got Talent Semi-Finalist Mr. Phil on Bank Holiday Monday. Renowned as one of the UK’s top jugglers and entertainers, Mr. Phil will deliver two fantastic shows jam packed with variety!

Friday 24th August
Woodlands Family Theme Park near Dartmouth, always hosts a range of fun events, from concerts to educational activities. During the August Bank Holiday, for one day only, there will be a special ‘Fizzpop Science Workshop’. With exciting, hands-on science workshops where kids can make their own slime, a bubble show and a Bernoulli’s air show complete with huge smoke circles, a balloon called Bob and a piece of science equipment from their cooker that goes POP!
