Starring former \u2018Casualty\u2019 actors Claire Goose and Matt Bardock, this show took in some of the most striking scenery in our part of the country. Producers of the show commented: \u201cThere are seven regular characters; our six regulars and Devon. Indeed, much of the series is based around this scenic town, which has been given the fictional name of \u2018Lighthaven\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Salcombe, with its many sandy beaches and gorgeous quayside, is renowned as a wonderful holiday destination, particularly in the summer months. As featured in episode two of the first series, <a href=\"\/blog\/beaches\/bantham-beach-south-devon-beach-bible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bantham<\/a> is a surfer\u2019s paradise offering views towards <a href=\"\/blog\/beaches\/burgh-island-south-devon-beach-bible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Burgh Island<\/a> and <a href=\"\/blog\/south-devon\/bigbury-on-sea-south-devon-beach-bible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bigbury-On-Sea<\/a>. Visitors can enjoy relaxing on the vast sandy beaches, walking along the Bigbury Bay coastline, or exploring the history of Burgh Island and the iconic art-deco Burgh Island hotel.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large alignnone\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2015\/11\/Burgh-Island-sunset-NS-RESIZED.jpg\" alt=\"Burgh Island, a setting for numerous stories and TV shows, from Agatha Christie's novels to the BBC's The Coroner.\" width=\"960\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Dartmouth<\/h3>\n<p>The Coroner filming locations have included iconic spots on the <a href=\"\/blog\/beaches\/start-bay-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Start Bay<\/a> coastline and around Dartmouth, with scenes of Start Point lighthouse, <a href=\"\/blog\/south-devon\/blackpool-sands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Blackpool Sands<\/a> and the Dartmouth ferry and waterfront.<\/p>\n<div class=\"vacancy-box\">\n<p>One particularly memorable scene from The Coroner, the kidnapping during series two\u2019s \u2018Pieces of Eight\u2019 episode, took place on Dartmouth\u2019s Foss Street, a walkway well-known for its plethora of independent shops and galleries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Beautiful Bayard\u2019s Cove (pictured below) is one of the most common Coroner filming locations throughout both series.
