The smaller cove to the north, is known as Leas Foot, and the larger southern beach situated slightly further along the coast is Thurlestone Sands, which merges into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coastandcountry.co.uk\/blog\/south-milton-sands-beach-bible\">South Milton Sands<\/a>. Accessible via a single-track road, the beaches are fairly remote meaning they don\u2019t attract swathes of crowds in the peak summer months. Both are well sheltered, and enjoy shallow bathing waters that are perfect for children to splash around in &#8211; the water is rated as excellent (in the South) and good (in the North) so you can be sure it\u2019s a clean and safe environment to take a dip. Seasonal RNLI lifeguards monitor the safety of swimmers and watersports enthusiasts, however, care does need to be taken further out to sea as warnings of dangerous rip-tides, currents and sudden shelving are prevalent. Exposed on a low tide, the rocky outcrops that flank the beach reveal rockpools that are teeming with marine life, perfect for beach explorers of every age!<\/p>\n<p>Aside from seasonal lifeguards, there are no facilities on the beach, with the nearest toilet being found at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coastandcountry.co.uk\/blog\/south-milton-sands-beach-bible\">South Milton Sands<\/a>. As such, you will find those visiting Leasefoot and Thurlestone Sands amongst the more \u2018hardy\u2019 of beach-goers, taking delight in life\u2019s simple seaside pleasures of sunbathing, sandcastle building, scrambling and picnicking! The swimming conditions at the beach are safe, although there is no lifeguard service so do take care if you intend to take a dip &#8211; the rocks at either end of the beach are great for snorkelling on a high tide. Thurlestone Sands Beach operates a free car park that is situated near the Thurlestone Golf Course, for which the postcode is TQ7 3JS.
