As the week unfolds, activities will include fireworks, five-a-side football, a teddy bear\u2019s picnic, a three-legged race, a dog show, a raft race and a crabbing competition. All of these will take place throughout the town, with live music in abundance. Historically, the fair was much more of a commercial event, marking a period in the year where dues were collected by landowners, debts were paid and livestock was sold. In 1969 a committee was formed to revive the fair, and this is now a much loved, fun-filled week full of events for locals and visitors alike.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"2\">Who is taking part in Kingsbridge Fair Week?<\/h2>\n<p>This year&#8217;s Fair Week welcomes a wealth of local businesses who have chosen to take part. The town of Kingsbridge is vibrant and well reputed for its friendly, good-natured atmosphere. Home to a breadth of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, the high street is a honey pot of activity during Fair Week. Like most South Devon towns, there is a strong focus on food, so be sure work up an appetite!<\/p>\n<p>The full list of local sponsors can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingsbridgefairweek.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kingsbridge Fair Week website<\/a> and also in the printed programme, which is available to buy locally.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"3\">Do you have to pay to attend Kingsbridge Fair Week?<\/h2>\n<p>The Kingsbridge Fair Week is free to attend, making it extremely inclusive and perfect for those on a budget. You will find free activities to enjoy throughout the week, and a full schedule for children keen to get involved.<\/p>\n<p>Although the festival itself is free, there are inevitably some events, such as the fun fair, which are not free. There are also some that will require tickets, including music events, so we recommend buying yours in advance to avoid disappointment.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"4\">Kingsbridge Fair Week 2024 Events<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-35533\" src=\"https:\/\/www.coastandcountry.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2020\/07\/Kingsbridge-Fair-Week-Raft-Race-640x427-1.jpg\" alt=\"Rafts on the water at Kingsbridge Fair Week's raft race event\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A comprehensive programme is available to purchase from various shops throughout Kingsbridge. The cost is <strong>\u00a33.00<\/strong>, the profits from which will go towards running the event itself.
