Devon and Cornwall Police have bestowed Coast & Country Cottages with their coveted Covid-19 Heroes Award.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The certificate of appreciation was presented to Jon Doyle, Coast & Country Cottages Managing Director, by South Hams Sector Inspector Nicky Baker from Devon and Cornwall Police, on behalf of Assistant Chief Constable and Gold Commander Glen Mayhew. It comes after the agency and their compassionate holiday home owners accommodated members of the police force, NHS and other key workers free of charge in their holiday properties during the first lockdown, at a time when many were required to isolate from their families.<\/p>\n

The Covid-19 Heroes Award, which \u201cseeks to recognise local individuals and companies who have gone above and beyond to support Devon and Cornwall Police and their communities during the Coronavirus pandemic\u201d, was proudly received by the locally-based Coast & Country Cottages team.<\/p>\n

\nJon Doyle said \u201cWe truly appreciate this award, and were honoured to be of assistance. Of course the real heroes are the generous property owners, who kindly donated their holiday homes free of charge to help key workers during the pandemic. And let us not forget the key workers themselves, who have given so much in so many ways, to help us all through this unprecedented time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Coast & Country Cottages made accommodation arrangements for key workers throughout the first lockdown in association with their property owners, and also provided cleaning, linen and maintenance support free of charge. Members of the team were also involved in the national \u2018NHS Homes\u2019 initiative, where they worked to pair key workers with accommodation all over the UK.<\/p>\n

\nSouth Hams Sector Inspector Nicky Baker commented \u201cCoast & Country Cottages should be very proud of the support they provided. During this global pandemic, local communities have never been more reliant on one another, and the work Coast & Country Cottages did \u2013 and continue to do – is a great example of our lovely South Devon community pulling together to help one another\u201d.<\/p>\n

In a letter from Glen Mayhew, the team were offered \u201cheartfelt congratulations\u201d for their efforts \u2013 something Jon is touched by, as he finishes \u201cLiving and working in this local community, we as a team are grateful for this recognition, and will continue to help in any way we can\u201d.<\/p>\n
