Lovely position overlooking the Ley, the road noise is quite intrusive at times. The house was well equipped but could benefit from some tlc. The carpets had a rather doggy smell and the vacuum in the hall was very smelly.

Many thanks for taking the time to supply us with your feedback following your recent holiday. We have forwarded your comments to the owners and would reply as follows: i) Complete decoration was carried out last year, a new kitchen installed together with soft furnishings purchased. ii) To reduce any issues with pets - guests are kindly asked not to allow their pets in the carpeted bedrooms in order to reduce wear and tear/any pet smell. iii) The vacuum cleaner is to be replaced shortly. We do hope that in spite of these issues you were able to enjoy your time exploring the South Hams and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

This is a delightful conversion, with just a few design errors and some rather bad client servicing by the cleaning agency! The main design errors are no extractor fan in the upstairs bathroom and a freezer in a cupboard under the stairs which cannot lose heat in that confined space and runs loudly enough to keep me awake the first night...I gave it the rest of the week off. The place was pretty filthy in some places like under the sofas and the TV,DVD player etc, etc. The dead insects in the top of stairs uplighter was frightening! The oven was filthy! Presumably not reported to the owners were faults with the SKY remote control, DVD player, Cooker and washing machine. The SKY was get-round-able, the DVD is broken and the cooker and washer worked on occasion, but not always......the cooker MUST have the timer set, which was malfunctioning. The mains had been turned off and all devices needed re-setting....the washer took 5 hours to do a wash and dry...surely a fault? You also need to remember the kitchen is upstairs and that can bean issue if you are dining in the garden. I attach no blame for the above to the owners at all....I spoke with them and they were clearly not aware of any of these issues. I'm uncertain what the responsibilities of the cleaners who service this building are....maybe they aren't responsible for all of the above...but they are certainly responsible for some of it at least! Would I go again? Yes, but at that price I don't expect to spend so much time cleaning someone else's place...........Were I the owners I would be looking at another servicing agent. Lastly, the Ley is home to a rare Mayfly variant whose discarded husks ( exuvia) litter the windows in June, surely a window cleaner can be arranged?

Anchor Ley is the nicest holiday rental I have experienced. It was very well equipped, we really could want for nothing. My teenage children were well looked after with Sky and the playstatiion in the snug. The accommodation was very clean and nicely decorated, a real home from home. On arrival after a long journey I was greeted with two bottles of wine and Christmas decorations which was a real treat and not expected. The position of the house could not have been better for frequent trips to the beach with a dog. We enjoyed the local amenities with breakfast at the beachfront cafe and dinner at the local pub. I will definitely be returning.

“Can’t think of anything you could do better. We have never stayed in such a well stocked holiday property. You have catered for both young and old visitors. We have stayed in lots of different property over the year and Anchor Ley is by far the best.  Well done. We have really enjoyed our stay here and if we come this way again, we would love to stay here”.
