Soundings is a delightfully presented and stylishly furnished detached holiday home. The three-storey accommodation, which includes four good sized bedrooms (two of which are en suite) and can accommodate eight adults comfortably, has delightful country views over and across Salcombe towards the Kingsbridge estuary, and as far as Dartmoor on a clear day. It offers a luxurious and extremely comfortable retreat for families or couples in a relatively quiet, mostly residential area of the town.

LOCATION The property is on Raleigh Road, approximately 10-15 minutes downhill walk (steep in places) to Salcombe town centre with its array of boutique shops, pubs and restaurants.
VIEWS Very pleasant, wide-ranging views (from the sitting room and master bedroom in particular) over the town and towards neighbouring fields, farmland, the Kingsbridge/Salcombe estuary and Dartmoor beyond.
ENTRANCE From the driveway and paved front terrace a ground floor entrance opens into a good sized hallway with beautiful oak flooring, and level access to two double bedrooms, the family bathroom and main living accommodation.
SITTING ROOM Double doors open from the hallway into a light and bright sitting room with lovely, elevated views via full length glazed windows, and oak flooring. The space is elegantly furnished with two double sofas, matching armchair and stool, coffee table, widescreen TV with DVD player, and feature wall-mounted gas fire. Double French doors open to a glazed Juliet balcony, whilst a beautiful oak and glass staircase winds down to the kitchen at lower ground floor level. There is also a cosy SNUG with TV, armchair, bean bags and various board games located just off the hallway.
KITCHEN/DINING ROOM A very attractive and well-equipped kitchen has polished tiled flooring, a range of fitted units, black granite worktops, Stoves range cooker featuring five-ring induction hob, two ovens, grill and warming drawer, integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher, and microwave. A large cupboard within the kitchen houses a washing machine and tumble dryer. The spacious dining area has a wooden table that can extend to seat eight comfortably, and bi-folding French doors open to the rear terrace and garden area.
BEDROOMS Four in total. At ground floor level (off the hallway) there are two double bedrooms. The first has a wooden framed King-size bed, bedside units, drawers, fitted wardrobe, TV and small, fully tiled en suite with shower, w.c., wash-hand basin, heated towel rail, shaver point and underfloor heating. The second bedroom has a wooden framed double bed, bedside units, drawers and TV. At first floor level is a lovely master bedroom with panoramic views via full length glazed windows. The room is beautifully presented with a sumptuous King-size bed, bedside units and freestanding bath, and extends into a separate dressing room with large fitted wardrobe and drawers. This in turn leads into a small, fully tiled en suite with shower, w.c., wash-hand basin, heated towel rail, shaver point and underfloor heating. The adjacent twin bedroom has two single beds, bedside unit, fitted wardrobes and ample additional space for a cot if required. All duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels are provided. Tenants will require beach and tea towels.
BATH/SHOWER ROOMS In addition to the two en suites (above) is a very spacious and fully tiled family bathroom on the ground floor, comprising large, walk-in shower, bath, w.c., vanity unit with basin, heated towel rail, shaver point and underfloor heating.
OUTSIDE To the rear of the house is a large, private area of lawn and stone terrace, ideal for al fresco dining, and furnished with table and chairs, and barbecue. Wide stone steps lead up to the parking area and Raleigh Road.
PARKING Off-road (narrow) parking for two small/medium sized cars - further on road parking usually available nearby.
OTHER INFORMATION Oak and tiled flooring in most living areas, with carpet in all the bedrooms. Oil-fired central heating and hot water with underfloor heating in bathrooms and kitchen. Wireless broadband internet available. Strictly no smoking or pets permitted. Spar convenience store and post office approximately 30 yards away.

Excellent holiday accommodation. Perfect quiet location. Very clean and spacious. Loved it! Complimentary wine and a pint of milk in the fridge. An amazing hamper! (special deal). Everything you need and more. Lovely views over part of the estuary. Spar shop just up the road for extras. Garden neat and tidy and rattan cube seating outside and BBQ. Great in the summer. Nice to have a separate washer and dryer as well. Couldn't fault it.

Unfortunately, we were enjoying ourselves far too much to remember to leave a note in the visitors book, however wish to thank the homeowners very much for allowing us to stay in your home. The house is fantastic and a great home for 6-8 people with wonderful facilities and makes for an enjoyable and comfortable place to relax after a tiring day out in salcombe and the nearby areas. The house is no more than a 15 minute walk to Fore St. Which offers all the needs of a seaside town from fudge to a classic Cornish pastie. The nearby beaches range from rocky to sandy and you have to venture no further than 10 minutes from the town (or a short hop on the ferry). I would highly recommend this property as its modern but still seasidey feel really made the time we spent in the home feel special. We would love to stay there again in the future as the home, destination and whole holiday experience was a joy. Thank you very much

Soundings was everything we hoped for & more. A very clean, beautifully decorated house. The views from & convenience of Soundings are second to none. The property is extremely well equipped with everything imaginable in the kitchen. Excellent!
