The Stables is a real home-from- home and the views from the sitting room/dining room are truly amazing. The young couple who live in Capton, and who look after the cottage, were so very welcoming and came to my assistance when I failed, repeatedly, to open the key-safe upon our arrival!!

The house was very clean. Some concerns about the drop from the car parking space to the property below. This was covered by ivy that gave way when leaned upon. I would recommend that this is fenced off or secured in some way as it was a small gap of about 50 cm - but easy to miss and fall through. Also the instructions about recycling could be clearer - e.g. we found recycling sacks in the 'play room' but were unsure from the instructions what we were supposed to do with them (e.g. take them to the recycling centre ourselves or was this something the owners were dealing with?). Also instructions told of the 'black bin' out the front - this was where the rubbish was to be put out on the last morning. I looked round for a black wheely bin but guessed that they instructions were referring to the silver bin with the black lid??

accommodation good and comfortable. Loved the lounge/ dining area which had good views across the valley. Plenty of games and the barn to relax if weather poor. We like to keep place clean day to day but there was a lack of cleaning clothes and materials.. Overall would book again, plenty of places to visit and a great area for a holiday

Lovely house with all necessary equipment and utilities. We loved the fire place and quietness around us, however, retrieving and returning the key is a scary issue. We enjoyed the friendly village people and the beautiful views from the river as we walked across the marvelously green Dittisham fields.
