Set at the edge of the rural hamlet of Capton, The Stables is a delightful converted stone barn offering peace and tranquility all year round. The cottage provides cosy holiday accommodation with comfortable furnishings and a woodburning stove, and outside there is a sunny terrace and a pretty, well maintained garden. The house is perfect for a family or one/two couples looking for a quiet base to explore the beauty of the Devon countryside including nearby Dittisham and Dartmouth.
LOCATION Capton is just two and a half miles from the River Dart at Dittisham and a short drive to the fine naval town of Dartmouth and the stunning South Devon coastline (Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands are approximately 15 minutes by car). Beautiful and varied country walks are available from the door. Dartmouth Golf and Country Club (day membership available) and Woodlands Leisure Park are nearby.
ENTRANCE Into a small hallway off which are a short flight of stairs up to the lounge and three steps down to bedrooms and bathroom.
KITCHEN Modern kitchen with cream units and beach work surface, 4-ring gas hob with electric double oven and integrated microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and laminate flooring.
LOUNGE/DINING ROOM With original oak flooring and wood burning stove, high vaulted ceiling, TV with DVD and Freeview, double sofa bed (the sofa bed can be used for additional sleeping accomodation for up to two guests), sofa and single armchair, oak table with four chairs and bench, and other occasional furniture.
BEDROOMS Fully carpeted double bedroom with 5' bed, bedside units and chest of drawers. Bedroom two has twin 3' single beds (pushed together), bedside units, wardrobe and drawers. N.B. A travel cot is available on request (cot linen not supplied). All duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels are provided.
BATHROOM Stylishly tiled bathroom with bath, shower (over), w.c., wash hand basin, shaver point and light and heated towel rail.
PLAYROOM/UTILITY ROOM To the rear of the property is a large timber framed garage/play/utility room. On the ground floor is a utility area with separate shower room (with shower, w.c. and wash hand basin) - the utility area houses the washing machine. Stairs lead up to an open playroom area with sofas and TV. (The garage is for owner's use only).
OUTSIDE Two good sized terraces to the side of the property with table and chairs. Large area to the front and side of the property laid mainly to lawn with flower beds and gravel path. (NB the garden areas are not fully enclosed).
PARKING Parking for one car at the front of the property and a further car at the rear.
OTHER INFORMATION Gas fired central heating and hot water. There are also family friendly benefits including travel cot, high chair, booster chair (straps onto a dining chair) stairgate for top of stairs off main living room, plastic beakers and cutlery. Regret no smokers.
