As the name suggests, guests at ‘Seaview’ can enjoy stunning views of the beaches at Bigbury-on-Sea and Bantham from every room.

An elevated, beautifully located detached family home, this is the ideal accommodation for up to 13 people, looking for a group getaway to remember in this beautiful Devon spot.

On arrival take in the views of Bigbury-On-Sea and park with ease in the spacious parking area, suitable for numerous cars.

Inside, be immediately impressed by the contemporary interiors, that flow seamlessly throughout the open plan space.

Most impressive are the large windows, filling the area with glorious light and providing exquisite views out to sea in all directions!

Self-catering is a breeze in the impressive kitchen featuring a fantastic host of appliances including a dishwasher, American-style fridge/freezer, double electric oven, and a handy wine cooler.

Enjoy a delectable meal of locally sourced ingredients whilst gathered around the dining table, before retiring to the stylish sitting area with a drink and good book… in the winter months, lighting the wood burner is a must for cosy evenings after bracing days on the coastal path nearby.

The children in the group will be delighted to find a snug, fully equipped with games and books for hours of entertainment. On the ground floor is also a utility room with washing machine – a handy space for sorting sandy clothes after a day at the beach.

There is also a bathroom on this level, where you can enjoy an indulgent soak in the lovely bath before bed.

Afterwards, head upstairs to find four fabulous bedrooms, each offering breath taking views over Bigbury Bay and out to sea.

In addition to the main house, Seaview also features a self contained integrated annexe that sleeps four people.

The perfect space for grandparents or a smaller group looking for privacy, the annex has a double bed, a sofa bed, a shower room, sitting room and kitchen – not to mention awe-inspiring views over the bay… a great space for a little rest and relaxation!

Head outside where you can breathe in the sea air, and enjoy the South Devon sunshine in the garden.

With a sloping lawn, and numerous seating areas, why not enjoy a garden game or two, before dining alfresco with a mouth-watering barbecue, all with the amazing marine vista as your backdrop.

On your doorstep are many days out waiting to be enjoyed.

Head down to Bigbury Beach to enjoy watersports opportunities galore, or why not head across to Burgh Island for a beautiful scenic walk, before visiting the Pilchard Inn for lunch.

At high tide, you may need to catch the iconic sea tractor to travel to the island… great fun for the children (and adults!) The South West Coast Path offers plenty of options for exploration, with miles of dramatic cliff paths to wander, whilst for golf enthusiasts there are many options too - Bigbury Golf Club or Thurlestone Golf Club are both very close, both with uninterrupted coastal views.

A little further afield, the popular town of Salcombe has a great choice of boutique shops and restaurants – plus a great quayside where the children can enjoy an hour or two crabbing, whilst devouring locally made ice cream!

The market town of Kingsbridge is also easily reachable with its tidal estuary, whilst Dartmouth is around a 45-minute drive away and offers all-weather family attractions aplenty, including an unmissable steam train that traverses the River Dart!

Bigbury-on-Sea is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is ideal for family holidays. Dusted with sand and lapped by shallow waters, the beach offers safe fun for groups particularly if you’ve got children in tow. In addition, Bigbury-on-Sea beach is dotted with rock pools, so there’s plenty of entertainment for budding marine biologists. There’s also a wide and varied selection of watersports available to visitors who prefer their holidays to feature a little adrenaline rush. Windsurfing and kite-surfing are popular here, with hire facilities located right on the beach. To give you some peace of mind, there are lifeguards present at Bigbury-on-Sea beach during May to September and the beach also has a first-aid room. You can even take the dog onto the beach, although they are restricted to certain areas during the summer. Bigbury’s most famous landmark is Burgh Island, which overlooks the beach itself. The island is accessible at low tide, when the waters reveal a causeway that links it to the beach. However, when the tide is in you can still reach the island by hitching a ride on the popular and unique ‘sea tractor’. Burgh Island boasts an award-winning hotel, elegant and rather genteel, it’s an ideal romantic retreat for couples. Explore the South Devon coast with its fabulous sandy beaches and its breathtakingly beautiful coastal path or simply take time to visit some of the charming estuary towns and villages dotted throughout the area, such as Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth.
