Bruce “An excellent property and a wonderful position Many thanks for making it a wonderful week.”
Bruce and Lotti Harris.
- Bruce, March 2022Great to hear you enjoyed your week at Seaspray Bruce and Lotti; and all that this area of Devon has to offer. Thank you for the kind review. Property Owner
Chris “The local roads are basicallyl tracks some with very few passing places.”
Not for the faint hearted .
- Chris, October 2021Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I would hope, beyond the narrow lanes, you enjoyed your stay and had no issues with the property itself (which would appear to be the case from the ratings you left on your review). I am sure you can appreciate that to enjoy such an area of outstanding natural beauty with stunning views it is often at the expense of planning permission that restricts too much development and access. Paul “The apartment itself was in a great location and very well equipped but unfortunately it was really dirty in places.”
The bathroom was really grubby throughout . The showerhead in particular. Also there were only two towels for the whole week. All the hard floor areas were dirty and needed mopping. On the first day of our holiday, after a very long journey, Ihad to spend at least 2 hours cleaning . Avery dissapointing start to our first holiday in almost 2 years . Even the bottles in the wine rack were encrusted with dust . The worst thing was the hand rail on the stairs which was sticky with dirt. In these COVID times I would expect the cleanliness to be the first thing to be addressed when renting out a property . There was plenty of cleaning equipment in the apartment so no excuse for not using it like I did. Such a dissapointment when we have had such a good service in the past . ANGELA MOUNCER.
- Paul, September 2021Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay. It is very disappointing to read that there were areas in the property that were not satisfactorily cleaned. We appreciate that it must have been very frustrating to action these yourself; and we can only apologise that these issues were not picked up during the changeover period. We work very hard with housekeepers to ensure that properties are presented to the highest of standards and we are sorry that this was not the case on this occasion. We would have welcomed the opportunity to put things right for you immediately, so it is unfortunate that we weren’t given this chance. All your comments will be passed to the cleaners for their attention, and we will do further checks to ensure standards are upheld. We do hope that despite this, you were able to enjoy your stay in this lovely location - response from Coast & Country Cottages Property Owner
Leigh “This property is in an ideal location for exploring the local area.”
The accommodation is in an amazing location which is lovely and quiet. The Beach House just up from the property serves some cracking food. You have a wetland at the front of the property and the sea to the rear what's not to like.
- Leigh, September 2021Thank you for the kind review. Exactly - what's not to like! Property Owner
Kerry “Really nice cottage with amazing views,”
- Kerry, July 2021Thank you for the kind comments and glad you appreciated the views. Property Owner
Caroline “Weather awful but cottage beautiful.”
Being reverse living, it was wonderful to come upstairs in the morning to see the sea in all its majesty. We had everything we needed and everywhere was clean and in good condition. There was a slight problem with the internet connection but this was rectified quickly by Sykes and then a follow up by the owner to ensure that all was now well and rectified. So, extremely good service from all parties; thank you. Just to note that road access in the area is via very narrow lanes, be prepared!
- Caroline, May 2021Thank you. Weather aside, it is great to hear you enjoyed your stay and were appreciative of both Sykes and my intervention to resolve the TV internet settings. I'd hope the narrow lanes all add to the adventure rewarding you with the majestic views at the end! Property Owner
C “After working all through lock down it was the perfect recover for the last 18 months the memory of seaspray will stay with us for a long time and hope to return in the near future.”

- C, May 2021Thank you. I am very glad to hear you felt the restorative benefits of a visit to Seaspray and appreciated all on offer. Property Owner
Fiona “Overall a very nice and comfortable property.”
Well equipped and good view. Double bed could do with being a king size, to give a better nights sleep to be honest. Excellent location, beach, walks, village pub etc all within walking distance. We would visit again!
- Fiona, September 2020Thank you for letting us know about your recent stay at Seaspray. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay and would visit again. We were surprised to read your comment about the size of the bed as this is the first time this has been commented on by a guest; but we will pass your comments onto the owner. We hope to welcome you back to the area again soon. Property Owner
Nicole “We had a wonderful few days at Seaspray.”
It is very well located for spending time on the beach or walking the coastal path and exploring nearby villages. The apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Our girls loved the pool and spent many hours in it! I would definitely recommend this apartment.
- Nicole, August 2020We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Seaspray and were able to take advantage of the amazing coastal walks. Jeremy “Sea spray was a perfect place to stay with the pool and the sandy beach of Thurleston sands.”
We stayed there with our granddaughter who like us thought it was marvelous. The weather was ideal and that helped to make it a great place to base ourselves to be able to visit other local places like Salcombe, Bigbury and Hope Cove. I would definitely recommend the area and mostly Sea Spray for a relaxing break.
- Jeremy, July 2019Thank you for the kind review. Glad to hear your visit to Seaspray was enjoyed by all the family. Property Owner
Rosemary “Lovely spot with lots of things to see and do.”
Very comfortable accommodation with all you need and a wonderful view !! Slight draw back- beds in smaller room had uncomfortable mattresses. Overall wonderful experience and would book again.
- Rosemary, July 2019We are glad to hear you had a fantastic stay at Seaspray and the property provided everything you needed. Unfortunately beds can be tricky one as it is a personal preference and we haven't heard anything similar before. We have however passed these comments on to the owner for them to review. We hope you enjoyed Thurlestone and come back to the area in the not too distant future. Property Owner
Jacqueline “I think that saying there is a patio and barbecue is not accurate.”
The details about!d say there is a shared patio and barbecue in the pool area
- Jacqueline, July 2019Thank you taking the time to review your stay at Seaspray. Our apologies that the description was not clear regarding the patio and barbeque, we have now updated this on the website. We hope you enjoyed your stay and join us again in Devon in the near future. Property Owner
John “Had an excellent week in a well equipped and clean cottage.”
Watched several lovely sun-sets over the sea, from the balcony. Picturesque cliff top walks nearby, and several Nation Trust places within driving distance. You have to be prepared to drive along very narrow Devon lanes to get to the property, but well worth it when you get there!
- John, May 2019Thank you for the review and your appreciation of all the Seaspray has to offer. Good to hear you appreciated the rewards of driving down some narrow lanes! Property Owner
Christine “We had a lovely relaxing week at Seaspray and enjoyed exploring the coast line on foot and further afield by car.”

- Christine, April 2019Thanks for the review and your appreciation of the 'perfect base' to explore the local area. Property Owner

- , Sep 2015“My 2 children (teenagers) and I last stayed in this property in the summer of 2011, and the accommodation and facilities are ideal for a small family (the subtle changes the new owner has made, have added to this since we last visisted).”
The spectacular coastal setting and local area and attractions all make it a question of when, not if we will return.
