The property

Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in the picturesque coastal village of Thurlestone, 7 Old Rectory Gardens is a fully modernised detached single-storey holiday home.

It has sea and valley views from the bedrooms and terrace.

Being in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 7 Old Rectory Gardens offers an ideal base for an unforgettable holiday in South Devon.

Arriving via a private driveway, you pass through a well maintained communal garden along a level pathway to the threshold of the property, ideal for guests with limited mobility.

Stepping inside, you enter a spacious hallway, with a large cupboard to store your beach essentials.

Continue through to the open-plan living space, beautifully-decorated with a neutral colouring and featuring a delightful contemporary décor, inviting you to put your feet up with a cup of tea on the sumptuous sofa as you soak in the views across the treetops to the sea.

Adjoining the social space is a modern kitchen, beautifully appointed with marble worktops and gleaming cupboards, fit with all the amenities required to rustle up some tasty treats to enjoy gathered around the dining table with your loved ones.

The property has a choice of three thoughtfully laid out bedrooms, a king-size and a twin room, both with their own en-suite WC, sink and shower, and a light airy twin room, boasting panoramic views down the valley to the sea.

Servicing the bedrooms is a contemporary family bathroom, fitted with a bath with overhead shower, WC and sink, giving guests the choice between a leisurely soak in the tub or a quick morning rinse. Outside you can sit or eat at the garden table on the terrace whilst enjoying views down the valley to the sea.

A secluded footpath leads you directly into the village centre to visit the local pub or shop.

A second footpath takes you to the golf club or nearest beach. Take the short stroll into the centre of Thurlestone for a delicious meal at the local pub, The Village Inn, serving a variety of dishes to cater for all tastes in a cosy and traditional setting.

Outdoor adventurers will be delighted with the South West Coast Path that passes through the village, traversing varying landscapes of rugged coastline, open moorland and paved footpaths to the nearby villages of Bantham (East) and Hope Cove (West).

Venture further afield to the popular resort of Salcombe, where you can soak in the breath-taking views across the picturesque harbour from one of the many quaint eateries that overlook the waterfront, or if that's not your thing, explore the ruins of the Grade II listed building and ancient monument, Fort Charles, nestled on a rocky outcrop just off the beach of North Sands.

Spend a fun-filled day at the beach with a visit to the coastal resort of Bigbury-on-Sea, where thrill-seekers can tackle the waves with a lesson at Discovery Surf School, and if you time it right, you can cross the sandy causeway at low tide to the iconic landmark of Burgh Island, boarding the quirky sea tractor on your return.

With all of this and more on your doorstep, choose 7, Old Rectory Gardens for your next stay in Devon.
