    “Kirkdale is the ideal party house in a great location with an excellent local pub and shop.”


    The house is comfortable as well as the beds and bedding. Unfortunately it was let down by the cleanliness. The house is in dire need of a deep clean. The kitchen cabinets were sticky as was the cooker and surrounding area. Cobwebs Everywhere, one of the bathrooms hadn’t been cleaned. Mirrors weren’t clean especially one of the wardrobe mirrors. Staircase glass dirty, skirting boards and blinds were in need of cleaning. The whole house needed a good dusting and wiping down. It is a large house and obviously needs more timespent on cleaning it. I did phone the Salcombe office but I had the feeling that I was regarded as fussy! I was assured the house had been checked twice! I believe because of the open plane style that it was just given a cursory glance and deemed okay. We didn’t find the TV control in lounge for two days as it was under an armchair! I have taken photos of the issues.

There is also a smaller room with single bed.

Three remaining bedrooms are on the lower ground floor.

There is a large double bedroom with super-King size bed (6') and en suite bathroom, and two twin rooms each with two single beds.

Adjacent to these twin bedrooms is a family shower room.

The property also has a laundry room.

Outside there is a spectacular terrace with bench seating and sea views, lawn and off-road parking for up to six cars.

Thurlestone boasts an 18-hole links golf course, a 13th century church, a traditional pub, a post office and the ‘Voyage Spa’, where visitors can enjoy spa treatments or afternoon tea. The sailing town of Salcombe is just a 10-15 minute drive away, and the fishing village of Hope Cove is a short drive away, or can be reached on foot via the South West Coast Path.
