“Great location, easy walking distance to multiple beaches.”
Very large house, lots of space for a big family. Modern interior and well equipped. Beautiful bathrooms, only slight disappointment was the poor pressure of the showers. A great property for a family break, we’d be very happy to return again for another break in the future.

“Kirkdale is brilliantly designed for holidays for large families and very well located.”
Despite my marking it down on cleanliness it was absolutely clean - we have no criticism whatsoever on that score. The problem was with the wastemaster in the sink. Despite, we think, us using it properly it got blocked (as they regularly do) and when I went to clean it out I pulled out chicken bones amongst all the other waste. These were not ours. A great holiday and we would certainly return to Kirkdale .- Mr Roberts, July 2020
“The settees are very deep for short people and some large cushions would help.”
No facility for re-cycling and we had trouble finding the centre in Kingsbridge.- Mr Cooke, December 2019

“A beautiful property, perfect for large groups and families.”
The setting is great for young children apart from a small part of the garden. The bedrooms are attractive and generous. The kitchen is extensively equipped and provided a super communal focus. Bathrooms are generous and attractively finished with efficient showers. A number of small housekeeping points need attention. The outdoor chair covers were badly stained and need to be cleaned. The dishwasher had clearly had no salt or rinse aid for some time and this should have been checked. We reported an open pipe in the cupboard off the kitchen which had not been capped and so sewage smells escaped. We also felt the towels needed renewing for a property of that standard. These are general maintenance and housekeeping issues which are easily remedied if checks and attention to detail are given by the company.- Mal Dolan,
“Lovely large house in a peaceful setting close to the SW coastal path and located in a quiet village.”
House was well equipped with everything you could wish for. My only surprise was that the bedrooms did not have a TV - in this modern era a house for so many people (11+) would benefit from this purely so people could break away from each other to watch their own thing in the evenings. It obviously didn't spoil our holiday but was a mere observation! The only slight negative thing for me was that I thought the outside areas could have done with a clean - there was quite a lot of dust/cobwebs/bird droppings on the windows/patio etc. A watch out if you are a nervous driver is the narrow lanes down to this house/surrounding beaches etc- often just a car width! Great village pub a few yards walk from the house- The Thurlestone Village Inn. Ate there 4 times and would well recommend! Would use the company again and stay at Kirkland house.- GR,
