    “The kitchen is unfinished.”

    No tiles on the wall, just plywood and exposed electric cables. The dishwasher was not installed properly and a drawer front fell off. These were both speedily repaired by the great Coastal Cottages repair man but it shouldn’t have been necessary to call him out if the kitchen had been finished. The dishwasher issue had been raised by previous guests so why hadn’t it been fixed? The tv has no coax cable which means internet programs only. There isn’t enough seating for 4 people in the ...

The property

This charming cottage, The Hideaway, is situated in Thurlestone, overlooking Devon's glorious countryside.

The cottage is a great escape for a family of four or two couples, with easy access to a variety of South Devon AONB's stunning beaches.

When you arrive at the property, you'll be pleased to find an off-road parking spot, allowing you to quickly unpack and begin your holiday!

Lounge in front of the smart TV in the living/dining room, where you can unwind with your favourite beverage.

Proceed to the kitchen, which features stylish units with a variety of integrated appliances, including a microwave/oven combo.

Bring the excellent dinner prepared by the group's chef through to the living/dining room, where there is enough seating for everyone, or out to the terrace where you may enjoy it whilst relishing the coastal breeze.

As the day draws to a close, retire to one of the two light and airy bedrooms, both of which include wonderful furnishings and en-suites, one of which is a bathroom and the other a shower room.

There is also a beautiful lawn to stroll across in the communal grounds, as well as a barbecue that is ideal for those summer evenings!

The Village Inn which serves hearty meals, and the Thurlestone PO & Stores are adjacent to the property, while South Milton Sands and Thurlestone Golf Club are not far away and offer amazing activities for a coastal outing.

Salcombe is a short drive away and has plenty to offer, such as sunning on one of the nearby beaches, and trekking through the gorgeous Snapes Point.

Visit to Bigbury-on-Sea for more seaside sights, including the famous Bigbury Beach and its surf school, as well as access to the charming Burgh Island.

Hope Cove and Bantham are both nearby and offer more seaside fun, while the pretty market town of Kingsbridge is a little further out it has plenty to explore.
