“This house was a total home from home.”

Very clean and tidy which suits anyone with OCD (me). The location is perfect for peace and quiet, just far enough out of the village with a pub that does good food, a well stocked shop and a 10 minute walk to the beach (dogs allowed on the beach to the right). Plenty of wildlife around. If you're lucky you'll see glow worms on the way back from the pub in the hedgerows! The only thing that was missing was just some basics, no milk, no teabag, no bread etc upon arrival, there was a bottle of ...

The only thing that was missing was just some basics, no milk, no teabag, no bread etc upon arrival, there was a bottle of wine which was a nice touch but I can't drink for health reasons so felt left out, water is was! Make sure you get your food in before you arrive as the roads are extremely narrow, if you've driven 6 hours the last thing you want to do is struggle down those roads again, one of which is a main route to the very popular Bantham beach. The car park is £6.50 (cash only) for all day should you need to drive to the beach (there is no other parking in the village). We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again as it's a fantastic house. The garden has fake grass which our dog loved - no muddy paws, it was also totally enclosed and private! We were very lucky with the weather too, a shame the house doesn't have access to the pool! (sorry I looked at planning!) As we are a family of swimmers we'd be back all the time if we did! The sea was good, we had very large waves some days which was great fun, however it always has strong undercurrents because of the shape of the bay and river so be careful! I couldn't recommend this house and it's location enough. You won't be disappointed.
