“Just had a wonderful relaxing week in Dartmouth at 21 Above Town.”

What a superb apartment, spotlessly clean and with an exceptional view of the estuary. No need to worry about the smart TV just watch the view there is always something going on. A definite plus is garage parking which is a real bonus in Dartmouth. The garage is likely to be a pretty tight fit for larger cars but it was fine for our Mini. Probably about 2-3 inches to spare either side of the wing mirrors. Anything bigger best to check the exact size with Sykes before hand. Overall a great place ...

The property

21 Above Town is a wonderful duplex apartment within 5 minutes walk of the centre of Dartmouth.

All of the rooms showcase the wonderful views of Kingswear, the River Dart and out past Dartmouth Castle to the Sea.

This property is ideal for a family or group of six (maximum of four adults) wanting to explore South Devon's coast and countryside.

Private parking is available in the garage, and you enter the property at street level, before heading up a staircase to the accommodation on the first floor.

Here you will find a newly refurbished, sleek kitchen, fully equipped with all of the necessary appliances to create delicious home-cooked meals, which can be enjoyed at the dining table in the living/dining room, after which you can enjoy relaxing on the new sofa suite and enjoy a family DVD night while the electric fire fills the room with warmth.

The balcony doors open up onto a small balcony with seating, a great spot to sit with a glass of wine and take in the spectacular views of the river and across to Kingswear.

When it's time to get a good night's rest, you have three bedrooms to choose from; a king-size double bedroom, a second-floor double bedroom with Kingsize bed and a handy en-suite shower room and a twin room meant for younger guests, each with ample storage and showcasing the spectacular views, while the family bathroom on the first floor offers a choice of shower and bath to allow you to prepare for each day.

The property is well-placed for exploring Dartmouth, with a selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés within walking distance, as well as the picturesque Royal Avenue Gardens, which sits alongside the idyllic harbour, the 16th century Tudor fortress of Bayard's Cove Fort, and the imposing Dartmouth Castle, which overlooks the Dart Estuary.

If you want to enjoy a day at the beach, Sugary Cove Beach is the closest, while walkers and cyclists can venture west along the South West Coast Path to discover a host more beaches within the South Devon AONB towards the picturesque Salcombe.

Hop on a boat across the river to Kingswear to visit its riverside castle, which sits directly opposite Dartmouth's castle, as well as the National Trust's Coleton Fishacre House & Gardens.

Explore the surrounding area further with a journey on the Dartmouth Steam Railway or join the South West Coast Path in an easterly direction to find a stunning selection of beaches along the affectionately named English Riviera, where you can stop off in the towns of Brixham and Paignton to enjoy a host of attractions, shopping and dining opportunities.

Explore the best of the picturesque South Devon coastline from this wonderful holiday accommodation.

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
