“Fall into the pub”
We love Dartmouth. Can’t avoid the hills - and appreciate the fabulous views created. Steep stroll to the front door, but you’re gravity assisted getting to the pub. Cobbs is characterful, but has every modern feature including audio systems. Loved being there, and will be back. You get parking allocated five mins away in town, and if the car isn’t huge (and has a good clutch) you can drive to the front door to drop off your bags). “Really enjoyed it.”
It was a great cottage. The outside could do with a clear up but inside was lovely and well equipped. My bed was a little hard but that’s personal taste. Be aware it is on a very steep hill. That wasn’t a consideration when I booked but my mother ended up coming and then it was a bit of an issue.- Ms Robinson, July 2019
“Only things that need attention is a new sofa in the lounge it has seen better days and is uncomfortable and the garden table is badly warped and coming apart.”
If both were replaced there could be no complaints about the cottage- Mr Bray, July 2019
“A fantastic property.”
So light and spacious, and the outside space and view are amazing. Only problem: the brochure lists it as a 3bed 2bath property. This is not true. It has one bathroom and 2 other toilets. The one on the top floor is so positioned that it does not allow men to stand up and use the toilet. We coped, but this could be a major problem for some parties.- Mrs Hulland, June 2019
“The outside decking area was disgusting.”
Dirty and needed a pressure wash clean and sweep. Outside furniture was old and needed replacing. Table broken on the top. Door to outside in master bedroom lock hanging off. Nob on shower kept falling off. Setee was filthy and smelt and was very uncomfortable. New one needed. Pillows were filthy and needed a wash.- Mrs Pitchford, June 2019
“2 toilet rolls per toilet would be good and a small bar of soap in each toilet.”
People don't always think to pack soap and it is usually provided. Other than that; lovely accommodation and good quality linen and towels. Well equipped kitchen. Regards Chris H- Mrs Horrocks, June 2019
“We stayed at Cobbs Cotttage last year for the music festival and enjoyed our stay very much.”
The house is lovely and the views are fabulous. I did complain last year about the cleanliness of some aspects of the house. i.e. the stain on the pillows and quilt and also the mould around the shower screen. I am very pleased to say that these problems have been addressed and all clean this year. Thank you for taken my comments on board. Our only problem was with the sofa this year. It really has seen better days and is so uncomfortable and rather stained now. Needs replacing. Apart from that we all had a lovely stay and Dartmouth is always a lively place to holiday. Thank you- Mrs Williams, May 2019
“All good.”- Mrs Bartlett, January 2019
“The cottage has amazing views, is clean and well equipped.”- Mr Wilkinson, October 2018
“Plenty of space, modern and clean.”

“Excellent”- EDWARD, Jun 2016

“Lovely Cottage and stunning view.”
To achieve this view the slope up to it is a challenge both for pedestrians and vehicles! Bin wasn't empty when we arrived and we had to ring for service. In fact another bin would be an advantage. The seagulls were a nuisance at that time of year (8th Aug). The terrace was a mess and the noise went on all night. Especially noisy in the top bedroom. The upstairs sink was blocked and the water did not run away. However we loved Dartmouth and had a good break.- , Aug 2015
Thank you for your valuable feedback regarding your holiday at Cobbs Cottage in Dartmouth. We were sorry to read that certain aspects of your stay were disappointing. The owner is aware of the seagull issue (not unusual in seaside towns) and has been proactive in arranging for the terrace to be jet washed every two weeks, particularly in the summer months. We would have happily arranged for an additional clean to have been carried out during your stay. On a separate note, the upstairs sink was unblocked upon your departure. We were pleased to hear how much you enjoyed the Dartmouth area and had a good break, in general, despite the issues mentioned. We do hope to welcome you back again.
Further to our initial reply, the owner would like to respond to your valuable review as follows:- ‘Thank you for your valuable feedback regarding your Cobbs Cottage holiday and we are delighted that you have awarded the accommodation and service the maximum stars possible, mirroring the wonderfully positive comments in the cottage’s visitors book. Like many West Country coastal towns and villages, Dartmouth’s hills are steep in parts and slope down towards the water. Cobbs Cottage is close to the town centre by foot and car, and is part way up on of Dartmouth’s conservation area residential hills, enjoying lovely water and town views from both inside the cottage and from its regularly jet washed outside terraces. Since your comments, the owners have changed the cleaner and are delighted that no issues have since been reported’.

“Obviousy adequete as have booked previously”- , Apr 2014
“Cottage was as described.”
It was excellent bar a few things. Filthy barbecue with no utensils to clean (we had to buy our own). The outside table was covered in seagull mess. I do appreciate it is difficult to keep clean, but would have helped if a table umbrella was provided (also to provide sun shelter). House was clean except for cobwebs in some rooms and dirty/paper underneath the rug in lounge,- , Apr 2014

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
