  • “Earlier reviews of the property recorded visitor concerns about dirty cups - this was the case for us also.”

Earlier reviews also suggested the main bed mattress is poor - it is and springs felt through it & it should be replaced. Garden wall lights & living area free standing lamp need new bulbs or corrective action. Some better instructions over the use of the TV system for non-satellite, non Netflix people, would be helpful. Overall a lovely property & with a few tweaks could be 10/10.

The property

Situated in the popular town of Dartmouth, Devon is this romantic, ground-floor apartment, 16b Clarence Street.

Hosting one bedroom and a private courtyard while being close to local amenities and the thriving centre of Dartmouth, this property is ideal for a couple or a solo traveller looking to explore Devon's finest attractions.

Arriving at the apartment, hang your coats and leave your shoes in the hallway and make your way through to the kitchen; here you will find all the appliances needed to concoct delicious meals throughout your stay including an electric oven and hob, and a microwave.

Sit down to eat at the breakfast bar while you plan your next adventure, and when the evening draws to a close, snuggle up in the sitting room and sink into the corner sofa.

The sitting room hosts a Smart TV and an electric fire, perfect for cosying up and enjoying a day of watching films in between your action-packed days out.

From here, venture to the bedroom for some well-deserved rest ahead of another busy day.

The double bedroom also hosts a dressing table where you can prepare for your day, and plenty of storage to unpack your belongings.

Completing the interior of the apartment is a shower room, fit with a walk-in shower, a basin, a WC and a toasty heated towel rail.

Take your meals al fresco and enjoy a barbecue in the courtyard on those balmy summer evenings; the enclosed courtyard offers a quaint bistro set ideal for stepping outside to enjoy your morning coffee.

If you don't fancy cooking one evening, Dartmouth offers an array of cuisines within the town centre so you can take a break from cooking, including pubs, bistros, takeaways and traditional fish and chip shops, as well as seafood restaurants boasting fresh produce from local waters.

If you are looking for a fine dining experience with your loved one, try Taylor's Restaurant for a tasty meal with pretty harbourside views.

Take a stroll down the quaint high street and discover Dartmouth's good selection of shops, made up of both local and chain businesses.

For a spot of history, spend an afternoon at the Dartmouth Museum before heading to Dartmouth Steam Railway; both attractions offer an insight into the town's rich culture.

Within easy reach is the magnificent Dartmouth Castle, a stunning piece of architecture from the 14th century overlooking the River Dart estuary.

Sugary Cove beach is also within walking distance from the apartment, where you can relax on the golden sands or try some watersports, but if you are looking for a range of challenging and not-so-challenging walking and cycling routes, the Dartmoor National Park is reachable by a scenic car journey.

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
