“The cottage is so well equipped with attention to detail and quality fixtures and fittings.”

The location is perfect with everything on the doorstep and yet an exclusive, hidden feeling. We found the large main bedroom a little cold and damp with the ensuite shower room particularly cold? Understand its is difficult given the location of the cottage built into the bank etc but wondered if an additional heater etc could be provided for this area? Don't want this small fact to detract from an otherwise delightful cottage and we will look to return next year! Please pass on our gratitude ...

The property

Set in the centre of the bustling town of Dartmouth with captivating views across the picturesque River Dart is the wonderful Gallery 34.

This traditional, coastal getaway cottage has been designed with a group of family and friends in mind, ideal for those seeking to explore this magical part of South Devon.

The property enjoys a quirky layout meaning you enter the property at first floor level, where you will find the kitchen and the sitting/dining room.

The contemporary kitchen is complete with everything you could possibly need for a self-catering holiday, as well as a washing machine so that you can wash your clothes after a day at the beach.

From here, you will find a spacious dining room, where all of your meals can be enjoyed with the River Dart as your backdrop as you tuck in.

Joining this space is the welcoming sitting area, where you can relax and unwind into your evening whilst snuggled up on the comfortable sofa with the woodburning stove filling the room with a gentle warmth.

Alternatively, make your way up the stairs to find a second sitting room, with limited head height in some areas, boasting large Velux windows, allowing floods of light into the space and even more views of your surroundings.

Concluding the interior are three well-presented bedrooms, offering spaces to store your holiday belongings and rest before the next day's adventure.

There is a super king-size bedroom with an en-suite, as well as a king size double bedroom, whilst the lower-ground-floor plays host to a twin bedroom.

During a balmy afternoon, head outside to the rear garden and soak up the sun from the decked terrace area before heading into town to explore your surroundings.

Resting a stone's throw away from the cottage are a plethora of independent shops, accompanied by a superb selection of pubs and eateries.

As you wonder around the town, be sure to brush up on the local history by visiting Dartmouth Castle and Bayard’s Cove Fort.

Families can head to the glorious, Blue Flag Award winning beach of Blackpool Sands, whilst keen walkers can stroll along the famous South West Coast Path.
