“Positive feed back - not a complaint - We understand that we were the first family to rent this home so just some observations we think may help - downstairs toilet door needs a bit shaving off to allow it to shut - would benefit from a clothes airier and some pegs.”

Instructions regarding recycling etc - instructions on how spar works, also needs to be ready for guests, whilst it was full with water we had to wait until the following day to use it as it had to be warmed up, possibly a step to assist getting in and out

The property

The Nook is a detached South facing holiday home situated in the historic town of Dartmouth, Devon.

This dog-friendly house, which is set over three floors and perfect for families or friends, offers off-road parking with a Podpoint electric car charging point, an enclosed garden with hot tub, and is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

A front, enclosed patio with furnishings, great for drinking a refreshing beverage while your dog snoozes in the sun, is located at the front of the house.

Inside, you'll find original charm everywhere, featuring beautiful tiling and high ceilings, as well as a large open-plan kitchen dining room ideal for entertaining friends and family.

With a range oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, and a huge dining table to seat the entire group, foodies will have no trouble whipping up their favourite meals; the bay window lets in plenty of light while you plan the day's itinerary over breakfast!

On cooler nights, after filling up the dishwasher, fire up the wood stove and curl up on the couch to watch TV.

Summer days will undoubtedly be spent relaxing in your private, enclosed south facing sunny garden, which has a hot tub and outdoor seats.

The separate sitting area, which also has a woodburning stove and Smart TV, as well as a plush corner sofa to curl up with a good book, offers even more space to unwind.

A cloakroom completes the ground floor, while the family bathroom upstairs features a freestanding bath, wide walk-in shower, and heated towel rail.

On this floor, there are also two king-size bedrooms, one of which has a balcony where you can enjoy your morning coffee in the sunshine, along with a twin bedroom on the second floor; all three rooms have been nicely outfitted with enough space for your belongings.

Whether you want to hire a boat to explore the River Dart, visit Dartmouth Castle, or take a dip at Sugary Cove Beach, there are plenty of things to do in and around Dartmouth.

Some of the amazing dining out options include the Dartmouth Arms, Rockfish seafood restaurant, and the 14th-century The Cherub Inn.

Take a walk along the South West Coast Path to see more of this beautiful region, which includes nature reserves like the National Trust's Little Dartmouth and sheltered bays like Blackpool Sands, as well as Fast Rabbit Farm Gardens and Woodlands Family Theme Park, which are sure to be a hit with the whole family.

A short boat ride will take you to the nearby village of Kingswear, which has more coastal paths to explore and nearby attractions like the National Trust's Coleton Fishacre, while the market town of Totnes is further afield.

Climb Totnes Castle for panoramic views, stop at Steam Packet Inn for a cold drink beside the river, or bring a picnic to Dartington Hall Gardens.

The South Devon Railway, based in the nearby village of Staverton, offers historic train rides around the picturesque coast and countryside.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes.
