The property

Perfectly positioned in the heart of the popular town of Dartmouth, rests this first-floor apartment, The Wardroom, built for a Captain at the BRNC to use as his dressing room.

Set within a striking Grade II listed building, The Wardroom offers a charming and homely base for your next retreat to Devon.

Kick off your shoes as you enter into the property before continuing through to the pleasant sitting room, flooded with natural light welcomed in through the towering picture windows, and thoughtfully laid out with wooden floorboards and a rustic feature fireplace, providing a snug setting to enjoy a movie night with your loved ones.

The designated chef will be delighted by the well-equipped kitchen, housing all the amenities necessary to prepare a heartwarming meal and featuring an intimate dining table where guests can gather together to enjoy some overdue quality time together over a bottle of wine.

When sleep calls, you're spoilt for choice between the two light and airy double bedrooms, one of which boasts its own television, so you can drift off to the sound of your favourite TV show.

In the morning, prepare for a new day with an invigorating rinse in the family bathroom, or if you'd prefer, begin the day in style with a leisurely soak in the tub.

Head out the door and into the heart of Dartmouth, where there's a host of sights and attractions worth visiting, including Dartmouth Museum, displaying exciting maritime and industrial exhibitions in the setting of a 17th century merchants house, along with Dartmouth Boat Hire, where you can sail the tranquil waters of the River Dart that flows alongside the town.

Take the short ferry journey to the nearby village of Kingswear, where you can soak in the history of the 16th century Kingswear Castle, overlooking the River Dart and Mill Bay, or join the South West Coast Path, following the mouth of the Dart Estuary to Brownstone Battery, a coastal defence position dating back to the Second World War.

Travel further afield and spend a fun-filled day out at the popular seaside resort of Paignton, where you can bask in the sun and sand, meet the animals at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park or enjoy a thrilling ride at Splashdown Quaywest, overlooking Tor Bay.

The Wardroom is perfectly positioned to explore the delights of the Devonshire coast and country.

About the location

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.

Annual parking pass is provided for the long stay car park (Mayors Avenue) subject to availability/space.
