“We had a great time in the cottage and the surrounding area.”

It was quiet and the cottage was fully equipped and very comfortable. Walking to and from the parking lot is tough because of the slope, but also very doable. A wonderful place for those seeking peace and quiet and who like to explore Devon.

The property

3 Glendale Cottages is an outstanding property resting within striking distance of the beautiful River Dart, found within the picturesque South Hams area of South Devon.

The interior of the property has retained much of its character and charm, which is complemented by the refreshing ambiance and contemporary-styling, offering an outstanding base for a traditional family holiday to Devon’s coast.

Enter through the porch and be welcomed into the hub of the home, the open-plan living room, where the original beams and the inglenook fireplace frame the room and offer a sense of character.

The space comprises of a well-equipped kitchen, a formal dining space and a sitting area, where, during a winter's evening, you can get cosy by lighting the woodburning stove.

Once the evening has drawn to a close, head up the staircase where you can catch glimpses of the estuary before you reach the two well-presented bedrooms.

Here, you will find a spacious double bedroom which boasts a quaint window seat, where you can unwind and soak up the views of the estuary as you wake up each morning.

Completing the interior is a well-presented bedroom and a brightly decorated bathroom, boasting both a bath and a walk-in shower.

If the weather is on side, head outside to enjoy a spot of alfresco dining or enjoy a stroll to the nearby Ferry Boat Inn or The Anchor Stone cafe, which both serve a delicious dining menu.

Alternatively, head to the nearby town of Dartmouth which rests at the mouth of the River Dart offering a magnitude of watersporting opportunities and endearing alleyways lined with shops, bars and restaurants.

Further afield is the glorious beach of Blackpool Sands or you can soak up the scenery further by walking along the South West Coast Path.

3 Glendale Cottages is a wonderful retreat for your next getaway with the family.

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.

Unfortunately the property is not suitable for wheelchair access due to the location and access to the property.

Choice of two car parks in the village, one of which is located up a steep hill from the property.
