Only couple of points i would make are: - The woodburner was not working (sign on it saying not to use). This was one of the particular pre-requisites that we had made for the holiday so not to be told it was out of action was both disappointing and annoying (particularly at the time of year we were visiting. We would have expected to have been pre-warned one of our criteria would not be met. - The central heating was extremely difficult to control. When we arrived it was on and the upstairs was extremely hot. By the time our children went to bed it was unbearable (no way of turning off the radiator in their room - the bunk room). Therefore we had to turn the heating to 'timed' on the boiler. The thermostat appeared to be controlled by 'phone' so we had no way of turning it up or down. Subsequently it was cold in the mornings and had to be turned to 'constant' again. Less of a disappointment than the woodburner being out of order but frustrating none the less.

The Ferry Boat Inn (one of two pubs in the village, in addition to a shop/post office) and widely acclaimed Anchorstone Cafe serving locally-sourced fish and seafood in a stunning riverside location, are within 100 yards of the cottage, whilst Agatha Christie's former home 'Greenway' (now owned by the National Trust) is a short ferry 'hop' across from The Quay.

The cottage is accessed from The Quay-via a covered porch and stable door which leads directly into the sitting room.

About the location

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon.

It is important to appreciate firstly that The Quay in Dittisham is accessed by one steep and narrow road (mostly one car width) only. Whilst it may be possible to park for a short period nearby to unload/load on arrival/departure this will be dependant on local tides and usage of the nearby pub and cafe. We advise guests to park at The Ham and carry luggage (preferably in small, soft bags not suitcases!) along The Quay to Quay Cottage. You can purchase weekly car parking tickets from the two car parks in Dittisham.

This property offers the following short breaks:
