“The cottage was lovely in a small hamlet not too far from the beach and Dartmouth.”

Good selection of things to do in the area or great setting to do nothing and relax!

Good selection of things to do in the area or great setting to do nothing and relax! Cars essential in this part of the UK but only a short drive to essentials like supermarket and beach! Would highly recommend this property - thank you

The property

A delightful and spacious barn conversion, providing a good standard of accommodation for a family or one/two couples.

The property is well equipped for four guests with high quality fixings and furnishings, including a feature woodburning stove in the cosy open plan living space - the perfect setting to unwind after a busy day exploring the area.

Enjoy the wonderful country views from the terrace area. Located next to a dairy farm (hence the names) at the end of a quiet lane in the small hamlet of Eastdown, just fifteen minutes drive from Dartmouth.

'Clover' and 'Daisy' are two very tastefully decorated and furnished barns, retaining many original features including exposed beams and roof timbers. The high quality kitchen area is well equipped with electric hob and oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and large fridge/freezer.

The cosy lounge/dining room offers the perfect setting to unwind after a busy day exploring the area.

The central feature is a superb Lange wood burner that oozes warmth and is surrounded by sofas and chairs, new Panasonic DVD and Freesat box with FreeSat (the unit also plays DVD's, CD's) and a pine dining table/chairs for six.

There is even a drop-down roof airer to dry towels after a busy day on the beach! Stairs lead down from the hallway to two bedrooms, both of which are doubles (and travel cot if required).

The main rooms each have pine wardrobes and drawers.

The family bathroom is equipped with a shower, shaving point and light, wash hand basin and w.c. Lovely country views and a good area of private lawned garden and dedicated terrace area with furniture.

About the location

BLACKAWTON

Dartmouth 5.7 miles; Kingsbridge 7.5; Totnes 8.1 miles

Blackawton and the surrounding hamlets and villages are well placed for a tranquil South Devon break. In easy reach of Dartmouth and the beaches of Start Bay, the location offers a delightful balance between seclusion and convenience, with a wealth of picturesque walks, welcoming local pubs and more on your doorstep. In the centre of the village on Main Street, the 14th century Parish Church of St Michael completes the setting whole-heartedly. The George Inn is a family-run pub in the heart of the village. Situated across from the church, this dog-friendly inn backs onto some beautiful South Hams countryside, and there are outside tables where you can relax and take in the scenery. Nearby, Halwell is a small village in wooded farmland equidistant from the busy little town of Kingsbridge and popular Totnes - A charming Devon town with a bustling main street and a regular market, the area boasts regular outdoor markets on Fridays and Saturdays. During the main season, between May and September, there is an Elizabethan market each Tuesday morning.
