Not surprisingly it is humid inside, there is no mould evident, but the air quality is noticeable when you first go downstairs. The bedrooms are build on the lower floor, the sitting room/kitchen on the upper. The humidity level in the kids bunk room was astronomical, so worth a careful think if you have breathing problems or generally like a dry life. Nice if you are a an amphibian I suppose. Overall not bad but it is at the pricey end of the market and ought to match the price better. WiFi is very slow due to being at the end of a long wire to the exchange. OK for email, but streaming anything, forget it. Generally well equipped in the kitchen.

Many thanks for your feedback in respect of your recent holiday. We will pass on your comments to the owner and ensure that the lower floor is satisfactorily aired to avoid any further issues of this nature. Having reviewed previous feedback over almost 15 years I can find very few similar issues having been raised at this property but I do apologise for any impact this had on your holiday. Unfortunately wireless broadband speed is variable, but generally slow, in this part of South Devon. However, we usually find that there is sufficient speed for live streaming so we will investigate this query when we in contact with the owners. If you would like to discuss any of the points raised in more detail please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Owner relations

The property

This spacious, traditional barn conversion nestles at the end of a quiet lane, next to a dairy farm and near the popular market town of Totnes in Devon.

Offering plenty of room for families and couples, Clover retains much of its original character with rustic uneven walls and exposed beams and timbers stretching across the vaulted ceiling. Enter the open-plan living area, where you can settle beside the woodburner to discuss the day’s activities and plan tomorrow’s adventure.

The kitchen/diner also offers a sociable place to gather; and is bright and welcoming with skylights set into the side of the apex roof. Two double bedrooms, complete with patio doors, so you can step straight outside each morning for a refreshing breath of air. Stay on the terrace to take in the country views, or let the little ones loose to play on the private lawn. Within five minutes’ drive you could be in Dartmouth, where a wealth of attractions await.

Explore the dramatic Dartmouth Castle, chug along the steam railway, spot boats bobbing in the harbour or dip your toes at Blackpool Sands beach. The ancient market town of Totnes is also within very easy reach, with its own castle remains to explore, as well as river trips along the Dart Estuary and an array of pubs and restaurants to try. Plus, with miles of beautiful countryside stretching in every direction from your doorstep, you’ll be spoilt with country walks from Clover.

A perfect country escape for your family and friends.
