The property

Resting on the outskirts of Kenton, on the Kenton Park Estate, sits this romantic, rustic cottage, The Wine Lodge.

Positioned on a wine producing estate surrounded by 20 acres of uninterrupted countryside and a plethora of nature, it makes a wonderful escape for a couple seeking to explore the coast and countryside of Devon.

Enter into the open-plan living space and sink into one of the lovely wicker chairs in the room as you crack open a bottle of delicious wine, freshly prepared on-site and flick on the television for an hour or two.

The kitchen hosts all the appliances needed for a self-catered stay, so you can prepare a delicious, romantic meal or a simple picnic to be enjoyed after a stroll along the River Exe.

Sit at the dining table to enjoy time together, or in the summer months, make the most of the patio areas where you can absorb the beauty of the surrounding area beneath the sun.

Famous for its red sandstone church, built during the 14th century, this pretty village of Kenton is situated between Dawlish and Exeter, on the banks of the River Exe. It has a few shops, pubs and eateries to choose from within the village itself, with many attractions to see around the area. Powderham Castle, the home of the Earl and Countess of Devon is set in remarkable grounds, overlooking the Exe Estuary, making a wonderful day out with the family. The seaside town of Dawlish is close by, with a plethora of of shops, restaurants and cafés along with a small cinema. Dawlish Warren is a fascinating mile-long sand beach on the stretch of the south Devon coastline, with shops, a golf course and a 55-acre nature reserve, home to more than 450 species of flourishing plants and wildlife. Exeter boasts a remarkable cathedral, historic quayside and a wealth of bars, shops and restaurants. The gatehouse and tower of Rougemont castle are well worth a visit, surrounded by Rougemont gardens with a backdrop of Roman wall ruins.
