  • “We had a lovely week at 3, Rock Cottages.”

The cottage is very peaceful, in a quiet and pretty village. We were very fortunate to have hot sunny weather all week, which meant we were able to enjoy sitting out in the pleasant garden with our dog, as well as going for walks along the beautiful coastline. The cottage is very peaceful, in a quiet and pretty village. We were very fortunate to have hot sunny weather all week, which meant we were able to enjoy sitting out in the pleasant garden with our dog, as well as going for walks along the beautiful coastline. There are several different footpaths leading from Kingston to the coast path, across the fields to the cliffs, or to Wonwell beach on the Erme Estuary. The views were spectacular all along the coast. The beach is sandy, very attractive and seemed very safe for a swim - which I enjoyed! If you had children with you, it would be good sand for building castles. (You can drive down to it as well - walking isn't essential!) We enjoyed trips to Dartmouth Castle, Slapton Ley and Start Point lighthouse. The owner, Liz, popped round to put the bins out and emailed to check that all was well. She is very friendly and ready to help, if there are any problems. We hope to visit again, maybe when Covid-19 is just a memory and then we would feel braver about trying out the attractive pubs in the area.
