“Beautiful house but feels very much like a work in progress project.”

Wires hanging out of walls / ceilings, Flaking paint etc.

Wires hanging out of walls / ceilings, Flaking paint etc. Didn’t spoil the overall holiday, but could be so much nicer.

The property

This wonderful property is the ideal place for family celebrations or a simple, tranquil trip with your loved ones.

Take a seat in the sitting room while the musician of the family plays the piano for you all, a lovely way to begin your trip before unpacking your luggage and deciding who gets which bedroom over the two floors.

Head upstairs where you will find five bedrooms, each offering magnificent views of either the countryside or the sea.

The second floor is the perfect hideaway, with a separate bedroom, it’s an ideal spot for teens to chill out.

Once you’ve all settled in, head down to the kitchen/dining area, where you can all relax on the sofa while the dinner simmers on the AGA, or head to the snug with a book from the bookcase and a glass of wine for some much-needed relaxing time before heading up to bed to get some beauty sleep in preparation for the adventure of the next day.

Before starting your day off the next morning, be sure to take a trip to the terrace where you can appreciate the stunning views up close before heading there on a walk later in the day, not forgetting to stop at one of Dartmouth’s lovely pubs on the way home.

Dartmouth is a wonderful place to appreciate earth's natural beauty, located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty itself and surrounded by lovely coasts, it's no surprise that it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the whole of Devon.

Take a trip by ferry over to the beautiful area of Kingswear, its main town is full of excitement, with a museum, art gallery, and plenty of places to eat, it's a great place to spend a lazy Sunday, or the whole week.

About the location

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
