    “Hi, I spoke to Angela on Friday 23 October and offered some feedback regarding damp in the house (lounge, kitchen, dining area) visiting slugs in the kitchen.”

    My husband released the slugs outside! No doubt this was linked to the damp weather during our stay. My husband is a surveyor and we offer this feedback based on his knowledge and experience. We know Victorian houses have character and sometimes damp. ...

We know Victorian houses have character and sometimes damp. The warmth and supply of hot water was great. Location and parking was excellent. Kitchen was very well equipped and the only thing we failed to find was a mixing bowl. We loved the comfort of this being a family home. What would have made it perfect was a log burner. Our children were disappointed that they could not find the leads for the Wii. If the leads are there, they need to be easier to find or I suggest removing the Wii completely. I hope this is helpful. The property

1 Homleigh is situated just 200 yards uphill (steep in places) from Salcombe's famous waterfront, shops and restaurants.

This spacious, pet-friendly ground floor apartment is accessible via a short path that leads up to a covered veranda and from there into a large central hallway, off which most rooms are accessed.

It offers a cosy, spacious sitting room with two large double sofas, which leads through to a very light and sunny conservatory with direct access to a private garden.

There is a well equipped kitchen, plus a separate utility area.

An archway leads from the kitchen to the dining area which has a large wooden table with bench seating and chairs. Three bedrooms in total, including a spacious master bedroom with a super-King size bed, plus an en suite with a walk-in shower cubicle.

The second bedroom has a King-size bed (can be made into twins on request), whilst the third has bunk beds, a TV and games console.

In addition to the en suite is a family bathroom.

A spacious, private area of garden is available to the side of the apartment, with a lawn and some mature trees and shrubs.

Garden furniture and a barbecue are available. Off road parking for 2 cars is provided at the rear of the property, accessed from the garden.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.

The second set of bunk beds is only available on request and at additional cost - the maximum occupancy is for 6 only unless specified at the time of booking.
