“The property was lovely and in a great location with lots of home comforts.”
The view from the kitchen/dining room was amazing.The toiletry set was a lovely surprise and it was nice to have lovely flowers on the table too. Cleanliness of property was pretty good but I must say that nothing had been moved out for cleaning so under the beds and under the Tv unit and settee etc there was thick dust which I'm sure you agree needs to be addressed. Hope to return to Salcombe or surrounding area in the not too distant future. Staff in the office were very nice and it was handy having a place to drop the keys back after opening hours. Lovely views from the windows, light and airy, superb decor, very comfortable bed and sofas, well equipped, ample parking for one vehicle, nice shared garden - it was all we could have wished for. No bin bags had been left and several bulbs needed changing which we told the cleaner about and she said she would get a maintenance person to call. No one came. Having said the flat was very comfortable and suited our needs perfectly.- ,

“Well planned compact rental flat, stylishly furnished and equipped.”
Very comfortable stay. Lovely views from breakfast table window and interesting garden with own picnic bench. Lots of positives. Minor negatives for us were the flat would have benefitted from a deeper clean (back of sofa, lamps, etc very dusty). No cleaning products in flat at all apart from dishwasher tablets and washing-up liquid - some hob cleaner would be thoughtful. Very grubby cutlery and coffee stained crockery from previous occupier, I just put them through the dishwasher before using, but feel this should have been checked. There is no drawer space in the bedroom area, we had nowhere to put t-shirts, underwear, etc. A suggestion would be to replace the tired dirty washing bin (which has little purpose) with a tall boy chest of drawers.- ,
Thank you for your helpful comments. We have discussed the issues you raised with the cleaning team and the owners. The plentiful shelving to the sides of the bed and the shelf in the wardrobe are all intended for storing clothes. However, the owners will consider your suggestion for providing a freestanding chest of drawers at the end of the season. “Exceed all expectations, beautifully designed and decorated apartment , the best we have ever stayed in.”
Sadly , due to a disability, I had trouble with the very low toilet and rikked my back the second week there, otherwise we would re book for next year like a shot. We were lucky to meet the owners who were both helpful and hospitable and delightful company.- Barrie Walhe,

A ground floor apartment furnished and equipped to the very highest standards, with the lovely en suite bedroom and spacious living accommodation separated by glass.
The apartment is perfectly presented for discerning couples looking for a stylish retreat within walking distance of Salcombe's many attractions. Albany House is an elegant villa built in the late 19th century for one of Salcombe’s foremost master mariners.
It is situated in a quiet position overlooking Salcombe town and estuary, yet within a few minutes’ walk of all the town’s shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Each of the three flats enjoys off-street parking, wonderful views, unrestricted wireless broadband, multi-channel TV, an extensive Blu-ray/DVD library is available. Flats 1 and 3 sleep four, while Flat 2 is for one couple only.
All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms.
Each flat has its own unique style and identity, but they all share the same high standards of accommodation, finish and equipment (including washing and drying machines), and extra touches such as flowers and bathroom toiletries.
And, of course, those great views!
Albany House is always a pleasure to return to at the end of a hard day on the beach or returning from a cliff walk - a stunning destination, at any time of year. Flat 2 occupies the ground floor of the house, and enjoys lovely views across the town and estuary from the kitchen and raised dining area.
The open plan apartment, which has wooden or tiled flooring with rugs, has a light and bright feel by day, yet is warm and cosy in the evenings, and is perfect for one couple.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
