“The property was really good and we enjoyed our stay there.”

The only fault was that we were unable to park the car in the drive because the join where the drive meets the footpath is uneven and catches the underside of the car.

The property

Enjoying a superb position in the South Hams district of Devon and situated just moments away from the bustling town centre of Salcombe is this semi-detached property, Alberges.

With its great coastal location, this property is an exceptional find for groups of couples, families and friends to call home as they explore Devon.

At the end of each exciting day, head into the open-plan living room, where you can look forward to catching your rest on the plush sofas, which are positioned in front of the characterful open fire.

During the colder months, light up the fire to allow a gentle warmth to fill the space and to set a cosy ambiance as you flick through the channels of the TV or settle down for dinner at the formal dining table.

The kitchen comes well-equipped with a range of quality appliances, sure to encourage a spot of home cooking and just off of the kitchen, you will find a separate snug room, which is perfect for anyone seeking time away from the rest of the group to enjoy a good book or to catch up on TV shows.

As you tire, make your way upstairs to find three bedroom, two of which are placed on the first floor and comprise of a double with an en-suite shower room and a twin bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, whilst upstairs there is another double bedroom with pretty views and its own en-suite bathroom.

To the exterior, table and chairs situated on the elevated decking offer an alternative dining arrangement for the warmer months and the spacious lawn is ideal for letting your younger guests stretch their legs.

If you can tear yourself away from here, venture into the town centre, where you will be delighted to find a number of shops for picking up essentials and gifts, as well as a number of cosy cafés, welcoming pubs and excellent restaurants, so you are sure to find something to suit all tastes and budgets.

Be sure to meander the along the picturesque estuary to soak up the views, or if you are feeling brave, enjoy the waters from a kayak or perhaps a leisurely boat ride for a more relaxed way of soaking up the scenery.

Within the town, you could immerse yourself in the local history by visiting the Salcombe Maritime Museum or take the car to the National Trust property of Overbeck's, where you can explore the impressive subtropical gardens, home to exotic and rare plants.

Summer afternoons can be spend lazing on the sands at the beaches of North Sands and South Sands, or you can catch the ferry East Portlemouth Beach, before visiting the delights of Small's Cove, Mill Bay and Sunny Cove Beach.
