    “This is our second stay in this house, we love Poll Cottage.”

    It’s really comfortable, well equipped and looked after. It’s location is absolutely fantastic. It’s nice and quiet and there are snippets of a sea view. We’ll hope to return again.

The property

Poll Cottage is a comfortably furnished holiday home conveniently located within the very heart of Salcombe.

The available accommodation is divided over two floors and retains much of its original character whilst being equipped and presented to a good standard throughout.

The cottage is ideally set up for family holidays but would also suit 2-3 couples looking for a cosy retreat within easy walking distance of the town. The cottage is in Robinsons Row (just off Fore Street), offering immediate access to Salcombe's famous waterfront, boutiques, cafes and restaurants.

The East Portlemouth passenger ferry (within a two minute walk) runs to and from the town throughout the year to the sandy beaches on the opposite side of the town. The cottage is accessed directly from Robinson Row at ground floor level.

The tiled entrance hallway offers access to a cloakroom and utility with w.c, wash-hand basin, tumble dryer and washing machine.

A well equipped cottage kitchen has a range of fitted units, worktops, electric cooker (with four ring hob, oven and grill), dishwasher, microwave, two large fridge/freezers and doors out to small rear courtyard.

A centrally positioned wooden dining table seats six comfortably.

A cosy and attractively furnished sitting room has two large sofas, armchair, coffee table, sideboard, flatscreen TV, DVD player, iPod dock CD/radio and feature open fireplace with brick surround and slate hearth. Three bedrooms in total, all on the first floor.

The en suite master bedroom has a King-size bed, bedside units, fitted wardrobes, dressing table and chair.

The en suite has a shower, w.c, wash-hand basin and heated towel rail.

The second bedroom is a twin with two 2'6" single beds (these can be zipped together to form a king-size bed on request), bedside table and fitted wardrobes.

There is a further room with double bed, bedside tables, fitted wardrobe and shelving/dressing table with chair.

In addition to the en suite is a family bathroom at first floor level with bath, shower over the bath, w.c and wash-hand basin.

A parking pass is provided for the long-stay car park.

A short stay car park (for loading/unloading access) is 50m away.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
