“Cleaning let the property down.”
I’d describe the cleaning as superficial. First impressions are clean but when you settle in you notice the more hidden areas that haven’t been cleaned for sometime. Behind and under the sofas/tv area were filthy, around the door handles were dirty, the kitchen cupboards were greasy to touch in places and the cutlery draw tray was grubby. Inside the wardrobes were dusty, around and under the bathroom cabinets were hairs. The sofa covers need a good wash.
With COVID lockdown having recently prohibited overnight stays for nearly 6months there was plenty of time for the property to be deep cleaned! With COVID Sykes and coast country have made changes to how you are expected to leave the property, with the COVID pandemic the least you expect in return is that it’s cleaned properly before you arrive.
The location of the property and amenities within the property are however superb.
North sands beach is lovely (when the tide is out and sun is shining).
Local crab shed restaurant is delicious!

As you will appreciate, we work very hard with our owners and housekeepers to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained, so it is very disappointing to read these comments.
