The house was wonderful, in an excellent location. We especially loved the kitchen/dining room extending into the beautiful garden, which we made use of every day as we had amazing weather. The older kids loved the top floor bedrooms and bathroom, the master bedroom was airy and spacious, all of the beds were very comfortable. The only thing we thought it lacked was a downstairs toilet, but that certainly wouldn’t put us off booking again....it was quite possibly the best house we’ve stayed in over the years!

The property

A traditional, Edwardian terraced house with accommodation, Shipwrights is arranged over three levels, extended and fully refurbished to a high standard and offers estuary views from the garden and top floor double bedroom. The property is the perfect base for one or two families or couples, set in a quiet location yet only a five minute walk to the centre of town, just a short walk from the boat park and five and Salcombe's wonderful waterfront, shops and restaurants.

Enter into the hallway which leads to a small but cosy sitting room with feature fireplace and Smart Samsung TV where you are able to access your own with separate DVD player. Enter into the well-designed open plan area with well equipped modern kitchen and dining area, perfect for socialising with family and friends. A step leads up to a light and spacious 'garden room' in front of large folding doors that open onto the decking and garden beyond. Large oak dining table with chairs and long bench, sofa and easy chairs.

There are four bedrooms, first floor is a double room with King-size bed. Also on the first floor is a bunk bed room. 2nd floor (attic) level is a small twin bedroom with two single beds, and a double room with 4'6" bed. Highchair, travel cot, stairgate and changing mat available for families. On the first floor is a family bathroom with bath, shower (over) and on the second floor is a shower room.

To the rear of the property is a good sized area of wooden decking with table and chairs and garden area. One well-behaved dog accepted for bookings from mid-September until the end of April.

Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens.
