Built into the hillside of Dartmouth in South Devon is this marvellous three-storey, detached holiday home, Galvayne.

Boasting elegant, high-quality interiors and stunning views of the River Dart and Kingswear, Galvayne is the perfect choice for a couples holiday, sleeping four guests in two bedrooms.

Arrive to the delight of two parking spaces, a sought-after commodity in Dartmouth, before making your way down the steps to the first-floor entrance.

Find the utility room to the left before venturing into the first bedroom, a super-king-size suite with an en-suite bathroom, boasting a TV and Sonos speaker and double doors opening up to a standing balcony, providing the first glimpses of Galvayne's gorgeous outlook.

Stairs to the ground floor bring you to the handy cloakroom and the stylish open-plan living space where you can unwind amidst quality furnishings and more amazing vistas from the larger balcony, this one with seating, while a Smart TV offers entertainment in the sitting area, the dining area is a great space to socialise over food, and the sleek kitchen comes well-equipped with every appliance you could need as well as a breakfast bar.

Continue your journey through the property to the lower-ground floor to discover the second super-king-size bedroom, this one benefitted by an en-suite shower room, a TV and large bi-fold doors opening up to a large decked terrace with seating, a hotspot for socialising whilst admiring the picturesque, peaceful scenery of the water and Kingswear beyond.

Enjoy leaving your car at the property and walking into the heart of Dartmouth to browse the amazing collection of eateries and shops, from well-established restaurants serving fresh, locally caught seafood, to traditional pubs and independent shops, there's something for everyone.

Take strolls along the waterfront past Coronation Park and down to Dartmouth Marina to eye up the yachts, or catch a boat excursion from Dartmouth Harbour for an epic day out.

The passenger ferry over to Kingswear allows you to visit the other side of the river and take in the gorgeous Dartmouth scenery from another angle, with the South West Coast Path leading you east down to Brownstone Battery, continuing further along the scenic coastline and up to the National Trust's Coleton Fishacre House and Gardens.

Delve into Dartmouth's history at Dartmouth Castle, sitting proudly at the mouth of the Dart, as well as Bayard's Cove Fort and Dartmouth Museum.

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.

Due to the amount of stairs, this property is not suitable for those with mobility issues of any kind; the property has a first-floor entrance accessed via 9 external steps and extends down to a lower-ground floor.
