    “Lovely bedrooms, all of them - and three ensuite.”

    Great showers. Lovely triple aspect livingroom. The setting, the views were unsurpassable and we would definately go back. So close to the beach but a great view of the marsh and all the wildlife that went with it. Great garden for larger dogs - our smaller terriers could easily have got under the 3rd gate though. So many pluses about this property - but a few suggestions. Ground floor bedroom needs a bigger better bed! And considering it's supposed to be disability marketed, there is a ...

So many pluses about this property - but a few suggestions. Ground floor bedroom needs a bigger better bed! And considering it's supposed to be disability marketed, there is a step up into the house - without ramp. The ktichen cupboards are cluttered with unnecessary stuff! It would appear to be the owners dumping ground for all those things they don't want in their own kitchen anymore. Get rid of them. Suggest the owners are not there on check in/out day - that's what the cleaning staff and agency are for!

    Many thanks for your recent feedback. It is lovely to read how much you enjoyed the property, location and setting, and will look to return to Thornbrook at some point in the future.
    We will of course pass on your feedback to the owners in respect of the bed although this is a relatively new addition to that room (as it used to be furnished with a sofa-bed) - we will also review the access in light of your comment, and the kitchen inventory to ensure the equipment levels are appropriate for the number of guests and size of the house.
    Whilst it is the responsibility of the housekeeping team and agency to manage the changeover of the property between bookings, the owners are always on hand at Thornbrook to take care of other matters (eg. gardening, minor maintenance, general tidying) - we would generally view this as a good thing and hope we can all work together to ensure the house is presented to the highest standards for each guest arrival.

The property

Thornbrook is a dog-friendly detached holiday home with private gardens, parking and sea views overlooking Thurlestone Sands beach.

Ground floor has a recently upgraded kitchen, with direct access to garden.

There is also a dining room, utility room, cloakroom and living area with wood-burning stove and double French doors leading out to the garden.

Five bedrooms in total.

On the ground floor is an en suite double bedroom (children over 6 only).

The en suite wet room has a large walk-in shower (with grab handle and seat).

First floor master bedroom has a super-King size bed and en suite shower room.

Double bedroom with four-posted bed and en suite with bath.

The fourth and fifth bedrooms are on the second floor, accessed via steep stairs, and are both twins (one room is for children only as the beds are 2’6” width).

Cloackroom on second floor.

Family bathroom on first floor.

Games room in separate building.

Baby friendly equipment available on request.

Outside are extensive mature gardens, garden furniture, cold water shower and barbecue.

Hot tub available from 2019 – can be used from noon on Sunday after arrival (to allow sufficient time for cleaning and safe use).

Off-road parking on driveway for 3-4 cars. N.B Hot tub must be drained on departure, if not done, extra charges may be incurred.

For reasons of comfort and safety, the house can accommodate a maximum of eight adults in any party and no more than four children under 6 years of age (excluding babies).

Salcombe 7 miles; Bigbury-on-Sea 9 miles

The picturesque village of Thurlestone is popular with both beach-goers and watersports enthusiasts, with the beautiful sandy beaches of Thurlestone and South Milton Sands within walking distance. Thurlestone boasts an 18-hole links golf course, a 13th century church, a traditional pub, a post office and the ‘Voyage Spa’, where visitors can enjoy spa treatments or afternoon tea. The sailing town of Salcombe is just a 10-15 minute drive away, and the fishing village of Hope Cove is a short drive away, or can be reached on foot via the South West Coast Path.
