“We loved the flat, it had a very homely feel although the kitchen could use an update and the single beds were not very comfortable.”

The area is very unspoilt and we really enjoyed exploring despite the varied weather.

“Apartment was great however - rug in lounge sheds fluff everywhere, washing machine works ok but tumble drier just seems to take forever, dish washer works but there’s a knack to closing the door properly - it needs instructions or replacing, fridge door needs mending(doesn’t affect working of fridge), opening knobs on cupboards in master bedroom need fixing into the cupboard door, lock needed for main bathroom and en suite, the plastic table covering was not clean on arrival - the top was but not the sides, the place mats have seen better days and the balcony needed a good sweep underneath the chairs.”

This seems like a long list and all these things need sorting immediately but we would return as the flat and its location were lovely.

The property

A bright, airy first floor apartment with a lovely balcony furnished and decorated to a high standard throughout.

Occupying a superb village position close to Thurlestone Golf Club, tennis courts, pub and store the property is within a few minutes’ walk to the South West Coast path and a number of excellent sandy beaches. A flight of steps leads up from the communal entrance to the apartment into the first floor and hallway off which is a utility room with washer/dryer and sink.

The kitchen area is well equipped with an integral electric oven and microwave, four ring electric hob, large fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

The dining area has a dining table and six chairs with a pine dresser and iPod docking station.

The comfortable lounge area has a three-seater sofa, two armchairs, flat screen digital TV/DVD player and patio doors that lead out to a good size balcony with metal table, chairs and a bench.

Three bedrooms in total.

The master bedroom is a spacious double room with a New England style King-size bed and furniture and patio doors leading to the balcony.

The superb en suite bathroom has a bath, shower (over), 'his and hers' wash basins, shaver point, w.c.

and heated towel rail.

The second bedroom has two single beds, wardrobe and bedside tables.

Bedroom three also has twin beds, wardrobe and bedside tables.

In addition to the en suite there is a family bathroom with a bath with shower over, w.c., wash-hand basin and mirror with shaving point.

The picturesque village of Thurlestone is popular with both beach-goers and watersports enthusiasts, with the beautiful sandy beaches of Thurlestone and South Milton Sands within walking distance. Thurlestone boasts an 18-hole links golf course, a 13th century church, a traditional pub, a post office and the ‘Voyage Spa’, where visitors can enjoy spa treatments or afternoon tea. The sailing town of Salcombe is just a 10-15 minute drive away, and the fishing village of Hope Cove is a short drive away, or can be reached on foot via the South West Coast Path.
