    We arrived to an indulgent Christmas hamper full of local goodies. A kind gesture. We couldn’t quite figure out recycling or the Christmas bin collection so had to just leave the bin outside the gate as the South Hams council website indicated it should have been collected on our departure day. Only suggestion would be to make clear on description that the fire can’t be used rather than say materials are not supplied and show picture of what looks like used fire.

The property

Set in the charming village of Thurlestone, Homefield House is a delightful detached house within walking distance of the Village Inn pub and local village shop.

Presented to a very high standard throughout, the property offers spacious accommodation for eight guests.

From the gated driveway, access is gained from the substantial front terrace into a welcoming hallway which leads directly to the lounge and kitchen.

The very elegant, comfortable L-shaped lounge is furnished with two double sofas, feature open fireplace and occasional furniture.

Double doors lead out to the terrace and garden.

Towards the kitchen, there is a further quiet seating area with a sofa and armchairs.

This opens in to the very well-equipped country style kitchen with a full range of appliances.

In addition, an adjoining utility provides laundry facilities, cloakroom with w.c and wash-hand basin and access to the rear garden.

Beyond the utility, is the first of four bedrooms.

The master bedroom has a super-King size bed and walk-in dressing area with fitted wardrobes and a large en suite with bath, power shower, two wash-hand basin and w.c.

On the first floor are the remaining three bedrooms.

A large double with King-size bed and en suite with bath, shower (over) wash-hand basin and w.c.

Bedrooms three and four are twin rooms each with two single beds, wardrobes and drawers.

In addition to the two en suites is a family bathroom with bath, hand-held shower, wash- hand basin and w.c.

Outside is a terrace with wooden patio furniture leading to a mature good-sized garden.

Off road parking for up to four cars and Wi-Fi is provided.

The picturesque village of Thurlestone is popular with both beach-goers and watersports enthusiasts, with the beautiful sandy beaches of Thurlestone and South Milton Sands within walking distance. Thurlestone boasts an 18-hole links golf course, a 13th century church, a traditional pub, a post office and the ‘Voyage Spa’, where visitors can enjoy spa treatments or afternoon tea. The sailing town of Salcombe is just a 10-15 minute drive away, and the fishing village of Hope Cove is a short drive away, or can be reached on foot via the South West Coast Path.
