Three times British Travel Award winning Coast & Country Cottages is helping to make a difference again this Christmas, donating £500 to the charity Tommy’s instead of sending out hundreds of Christmas cards to property owners and business contacts.
The locally based lettings agency, who recently won Best UK Holiday Cottage/Self Catering Holiday Booking Company (small) for the third consecutive year at the prestigious 2016 British Travel Awards, has this year chosen to support Tommy’s, who fund research in to saving premature babies’ lives.
Karen Jones, Director, says “We have supported Tommy’s over the past 18 years, since the premature birth of our youngest daughter, Elinor, who arrived 11 weeks early. Tommy’s is charity conducting important research into the causes and prevention of pregnancy complications that lead to miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, as well as providing pregnancy health information for parents-to-be. We are delighted to be able to help them in their fundraising.”
Danae Leaman-Hill, Director of Fundraising at Tommy’s, says “We are so grateful to Coast & Country Cottages for such a generous gift this Christmas. Your longstanding support has helped fund our four research centres in the UK and to provide advice and support for parents-to-be. The work we do is helping families all across the UK and we couldn’t do it without you, thank you!”
The Christmas donation follows another significant contribution made to this fabulous cause by Andrew Jones recently. During the 2016 British Travel Awards ceremony at Battersea Evolution in London on 23rd November, Andrew made a successful bid in the silent auction in aid of Tommy’s, purchasing a signed Manchester United shirt, worn by Eric Cantona!
Andrew Jones, explains “Our Property Owners have received our good wishes for the season along with a 2017 Coast & Country Cottages calendar – a reminder of this beautiful area until the next time they visit. Rather than also send out hundreds of cards we are pleased to support the charity Tommy’s in their important work.”
He continues, “Following a very busy year at Coast & Country Cottages, including winning the British Travel Award Best UK Holiday Cottage/Self Catering Holiday Booking Company (small) for the third year in a row, we would like to take this opportunity to wish a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year to everyone, in particular to all the local businesses we work with throughout the year.”
