630 Miles of Mud

April 27th, 2013 | By Clare Levy

On Wednesday 1st May at 7.30pm David Jones will be hosting a ‘630 miles of mud’ talk in The Flavel, Dartmouth, about walking the South West Coast Path last winter.

David Jones, co-owner of Manna from Devon Cooking School and chairman of the Dartmouth Food Festival, successfully completed his gruelling 630 mile trek from Minehead to South Haven Point in Poole on Wednesday 9th January in the planned twenty five days.

He has raised, to date, over £9,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, a disease which affected both his parents.  All the proceeds from the evening’s talk will also go to the charity.

A special guest appearance will be made by David’s spaniel Rex who accompanied him on this hugely challenging charity expedition.

Commenting on the talk at The Flavel, David says: “I’m looking forward to sharing my experience with all on the 1st May.  It also provides another opportunity to raise more money for this hugely worthy cause.  Rex is happy to attend but has made it quite clear that he likes being at home and hasn’t got any further long distance walking plans to date!”  Tickets can be bought on www.theflavel.org.uk (£5 each).
