Coast & Country Cottages wins British Travel Award for third year in a row

Coast & Country Cottages has been announced as the winner of Best UK Holiday Cottage/Self Catering Holiday Booking Company (small) in the prestigious 2016 British Travel Awards, winning the award for the third consecutive year.  The announcement was made on 23 November at a glamorous Gala Awards ceremony, held in London and attended by close to a thousand travel industry people.

The locally based, family owned and managed agency who also won Best UK Holiday Cottage/Self Catering Holiday Booking Company (small) in both 2014 and 2015 is delighted to win this award for a third consecutive year. Since acquiring the company in 2001, Andrew and Karen Jones have successfully grown the business, which now markets and manages around 400 self-catering holiday cottages exclusively in Salcombe, Dartmouth and the surrounding coast and countryside.

We would like to say a huge thank you to our team, which has grown from three to over 40 people since 2001 – our success is due to their hard work, dedication and commitment. We would also like to thank our loyal property owners and also the many customers who return to stay with us in this beautiful area, year after year’”

The Carnival themed awards ceremony was held at Battersea Evolution and included a drinks reception, drumming and dancing displays, as well as a Silent Auction in aid of one of this year’s chosen charities Tommy’s – a charity which funds research in to saving premature babies’ lives. Andrew made a successful bid in the auction for a signed Manchester United shirt, worn by Eric Cantona, making a significant donation to the charity which he and Karen have supported since the premature birth of their youngest daughter Elinor (now 18).
