Coast & Country Cottages pick up more than just a national award

At the recent British Travel Awards in London, Coast & Country Cottages Director, Andrew Jones, and Operations Director, Jon Doyle, made successful bids in the Silent Auction, making significant donations to charity.

Collectively Andrew and Jon bought an authentic signed right boot from Real Madrid player Christian Ronaldo, a signed Liverpool shirt worn by football legend Kenny Dalglish, and a signed shirt worn by ‘Player of the Series’ Leigh Halfpenny during the winning 2013 British Lions tour in Australia. In total over £7000 was made on the Awards night for the three charities benefiting from the Silent Auction, Prostate Cancer UK, the Family Holiday Association and Just a Drop.

In addition to making these notable purchases, the locally based agency Coast & Country Cottages came home victorious from the prestigious 2014 British Travel Awards ceremony in London last November, having scooped the prize of Best UK Holiday Cottage/Self Catering Booking Company (small).

Jon Doyle, Operations Director, said ‘We are delighted to have won this national award, and successfully bidding on these iconic sporting items was the ‘icing on the cake’. The items will be adorning the walls of the Coast & Country Cottages offices in Salcombe with pride – even more so now that Ronaldo has received the accolade in the 2014 FIFA Ballon d’Or’.

Andrew Jones, Director, adds ‘It is wonderful knowing that our contributions are going directly to three such worthwhile causes.’
