Coast & Country Cottages Shortlisted for National Award
July 29th, 2014 | By Clare Levy
Locally based holiday lettings agency Coast & Country Cottages has been named by the British Travel Awards (BTAs) as one of the contenders for Best UK Holiday Cottage/Self Catering Booking Company this year.
The exciting news that Coast & Country Cottages has once more been nominated for the British Travel Awards came as a welcome surprise ahead of another busy summer season. Since acquiring the company in 2001, Andrew and Karen Jones have successfully grown the business from just 3 people to a team of around 30 permanent staff. Based in picturesque Salcombe and historic Dartmouth, Coast & Country Cottages now manages over 430 self-catering holiday cottages exclusively in Salcombe, Dartmouth and the surrounding coast and countryside.
Andrew Jones, Director, says “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the coveted British Travel Awards again! As a small family run business, we know it is taking care of the little things that make the difference to our customers and owners. From cleaning, laundry and gardening services, to 24-hour emergency assistance, we try to go that extra mile – we hope that our many satisfied customers will recognise this and choose to vote for us over the coming weeks”.
BTA’s chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “Coast & Country Cottages is to be congratulated on reaching the voting stage of the prestigious British Travel Awards, the largest consumer voted awards programme in the UK. The BTAs winning accolade is the benchmark for excellence when it comes to finding out who really is the best in the business of travel for the UK consumer. There are more companies in the competition than ever before, and some great vote-incentive prizes for consumers. We will be promoting the voting period to over seven million potential voters via our media partnerships and direct email campaigns to previous voters and this year we are expecting a record number of votes, so good luck to Coast and Country Cottages!”
The winners will be the companies with the most votes – in 2013 over one million votes were cast with the voting process and results scrutinized and audited by independent auditors Deloitte LLP. The winners of the 2014 British Travel Awards will be announced at a glittering ceremony on 26 November at the Battersea Evolution in Battersea Park, London.
