Sailing

The crystal clear waters surrounding South Devon’s coastline are alluring and addictive in equal measure. Once you have been tempted in or on to the water, many say it’s hard to forget – the exquisite scenery, the bountiful wildlife, and most of all, the superb year-round conditions for many watersports… particularly including sailing.

The region is famed for its fantastic sailing waters, perhaps most notably the popular harbour town of Salcombe, and the historic maritime town of Dartmouth with its Royal Naval College and a meandering waterway at its heart – the River Dart. Both are home to lively yacht clubs, as well as annual sailing Regattas. In fact, sailing events are plentiful throughout the year, from Merlin Rocket Week, to Brixham Heritage Sailing Regatta.
