Easter in South Devon 2018

With it’s warm sunshine, blooming daffodils and wildlife in abundance, spring starts early in South Devon and is the ultimate springboard to summer. Easter in South Devon is all about having fun and you’ll find it jam packed with egg-ceptional activities, events and celebrations. With some excellent offers for Easter breaks available, there’s never been a better time to hatch some holiday plans and hop down to South Devon this spring.
As the Easter holidays appear on the horizon, we’ve compiled a list of some of the fun and festive activities you can expect in South Devon in 2018. Easter Egg Hunts
Quite simply, Easter wouldn’t be Easter without a sumptuous week long chocolate gorge, so first things first, be sure to hunt that chocolate down. The Cadbury Bunny has once again teamed up with the National Trust and is set to hide chocolate eggs in properties all over Britain, including South Devon:
- March 30th – April 2nd, 11am – 4pm

Join the Cadbury Easter bunny at as he goes on a nature trail around the garden, help him to search out the clues and claim your chocolate treat!

The Easter bunny is going to hide delicious eggs throughout the garden, so make sure you have lots of fun exploring all areas. Take a map and follow the clues to point you in the right direction, you will find a delicious treat waiting for you at the end!
Pennywell Farm Easter activities
- March 30th – April 15th
Easter at Pennywell Farm is fabulously egg-stravagant. Expect to bottle feed new arrivals, pond dip for tadpoles, cuddle pigs and lambs and enjoy FREE tractor, train and go kart rides! With a full line up of daily entertainment there is also bonus fun on Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
South Devon Railway Easter Fair
- March 30th – April 2nd
Let off some steam at South Devon Railway. The train line runs from Buckfastleigh to Totnes along the stunning valley of the River Dart, so expect a beautiful vista of unspoilt countryside rich in wildlife on your journey. There is also a museum, historic steam and locomotives, play area, gardens, riverside walks and a picnic area to enjoy, but if that isn’t enough, the Dartmoor Otters and Buckfast Butterflies are also situated at Buckfastleigh station.

Woodlands theme park has a jam-packed Easter schedule this year. With activities ranging from Easter egg hunts and Easter bunny grotto, to craft workshops, zoo-farm activities, falconry displays, science shows (not to mention slime making!), Superstarz entertainment and even an interactive dinosaur.
Forest & Beach
Release your child’s ‘inner wild’ and book the children in for a day of spring fun at Forest and Beach. Set in a peaceful and private forest, children are invited to explore, play and investigate nature. Running a limited number of holiday activity days, be sure to book quickly as these fill up fast.
