From dining in a romantic South Devon restaurant to watching the sun go down from your spot in one of our many hidden coves, you’ll find plenty to enjoy as a couple in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. However, as South Devon offers so much more, we thought we’d delve into our imaginations and provide you with an alternative list of romantic Devon activities.

1. Sea Of Love

Take to the sea during your romantic Devon break and try your hand at a popular water sport together. Dart Adventures based in Dittisham near Dartmouth offers a range of guided tours. They’ll teach you how to kayak, paddle board and, for those who prefer to be on land, you can try mountain biking. Alternatively, if you want something a little more private, simply hire the equipment and explore the romantic Devon waterways yourselves. Learning a new skill as a couple makes for a great bonding experience and is always great fun. Who knows, you may take it up as a new hobby together.

 2. River Of Love

If you love sightseeing then why not take a ride down the Dart River on The Picnic Boat? Sit back and relax, taking in the romantic Devon river views, whilst you enjoy a delicious picnic or choose from a range of locally-sourced dishes including the traditional cream tea.  Spot wildlife along the way before mooring up at the estate of Agatha Christie. After your meal you’ll be dropped off at Dittisham to enjoy a stroll around the village before embarking on the journey back to Dartmouth – whilst enjoying dessert! Romantic trips include a complimentary bottle of champagne and, if the weather is a little cooler, the full canopy and heaters will keep you warm.

3. Cooking With Love

For couples who are passionate about food as well as each other, why not spend the day learning to cook a new cuisine at Manna from Devon Cooking School. Not only do you get to try your hand at making some popular and lesser known dishes from different cultures, but afterwards the group sits down to a long lunch enjoying the fruits of your labour! This would make a perfect gift, and the skills gained can be used to cook many romantic meals for years to come. They’ll also give you the opportunity to remember your romantic Devon holiday!

 4. Paint My Love

For the artistic couple, why not take a trip to The Art Café in Kingsbridge for a leisurely morning sipping coffee and painting one of a wide range of ceramic pieces? For the romantic touch why not paint each other a ‘his and hers’ mug or a heart-shaped plate, a personalised gift that can be used every day.
