Waking up in South Devon isn’t all about stylish bedrooms and stunning scenery – there’s also the not-so-small matter of all the delicious, locally-sourced food on your doorstep.

The Bake House

Café Alf Resco is Dartmouth’s breakfast specialist. You’ll also find their staff out and about at various South Devon events. We popped over to ‘Alf’s’ on Lower Street to catch them in action.

Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is a fast-growing watersport you can enjoy at many South Devon beaches, from Blackpool Sands to Bigbury-On-Sea. The paddleboarding scene in the video was filmed at South Milton Sands, and the paddleboard itself was hired from Tricoean Surf.

The video also features beach yoga at beautiful South Sands, an unspoilt cove on the edge of Salcombe. Emma Jaulin Yoga (which also offers SUP yoga) runs regular sessions in the Salcombe area and is also open for specially booked private/group classes.

A morning walk to North Sands is a great way to start the day. When the tide’s out, there’s plenty of space for your four-legged friend to run around, giving you time to look up and take in the view.

The iconic lighthouse at Start Point is well worth a visit, but it’s the natural scenery around this landmark that will really take your breath away. Visit for a leisurely stroll or a challenging jog – and whatever you do, don’t forget your camera!


Sharpham

Sharpham

The Sharpham Estate is home to Sharpham Vineyard and Cheese Dairy, where the fruity wines and creamy cheeses are giving long-established French producers a run for their money. Few who visit the vineyard for a tasting tour can bring themselves to leave without a crate of Sharpham’s flagship Dart Valley Reserve. Delicious!
