Places to stay

Let’s start with some of the homes featured in #WakeUpToSouthDevon.

A sumptuous setting for breakfast, Drake House is a detached, five-bedroom holiday home in Hope Cove. The combination of space, style and stunning views made it an obvious choice for our video.

Paddleboarding

Paddleboarding at Thurlestone

Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is a fast-growing watersport you can enjoy at many South Devon beaches, from Blackpool Sands to Bigbury-On-Sea. The paddleboarding scene in the video was filmed at South Milton Sands, and the paddleboard itself was hired from Tricoean Surf.

The video also features beach yoga at beautiful South Sands, an unspoilt cove on the edge of Salcombe. Emma Jaulin Yoga (which also offers SUP yoga) runs regular sessions in the Salcombe area and is also open for specially booked private/group classes.

Sharpham

The Sharpham Estate is home to Sharpham Vineyard and Cheese Dairy, where the fruity wines and creamy cheeses are giving long-established French producers a run for their money.
